Yesterday my husband was telling me about how his sister once dropped out of college and then went back and now she's a professor. This was his way of encouraging me to go back to school for psychology, which I want to do, but I have intense anxiety just thinking about everything I need to do befor...

I've never tried items specifically catering to autistics. It's usually just whatever I'm touching (pen, lighter, etc.) or something involving my body. I probably should try something soon though. I used to scratch at my arms until they bled when I was a kid and I find myself scratching at my skin m...

I barely leave my house anymore and I have two kids, one of which isn't even school aged yet. Sweatpants are my best friend. When I do leave the house for grocery trips or doctor visits, I'm usually in snug fitting jeans or black leggings, a tank top and a loose fitting t-shirt over top or a hoodie....

In my fantasy, I wanted something small but still beautiful and unique. I wanted a nice dress and for our two young boys to be in something equally fancy. But when it got closer to time, I gave up. I realized it just wasn't me. I was focusing too much on what seemed "normal." Working so ha...

I hate shopping for clothes. From the constant awkward feeling I have while walking around in a store to being incredibly indecisive about picking out anything. I shop for most of my things online, but with clothes sometimes you just have to go in person. I would probably be just as anxious as you a...

My body movements and facial reactions are usually more pronounced when I'm feeling really good. And to be honest, I hate it. I wish I had the ability to keep myself from doing it but I just don't even realize it in that moment. Sometimes I realize afterwards that my entire body was flapping around ...

I absolutely despise mornings. If it were up to me, I wouldn't wake up until about 10 or 11 AM. However.. I have children so that will probably forever stay a fantasy. Unfortunately insomnia doesn't care how early you have to wake up either.

As cliche as it sounds, I feel misunderstood. I'm increasingly more and more frustrated at the lack of information available to the public on the differences in how AS presents itself in women and men. I'm also noticing that NT people don't seem to be nearly as motivated to learn about the struggles...
