I'm glad i'm not the only one. :) I'm horrible for putting stuff off, and I think it's entirely because it's uninteresting. Bills, classes I didn't fancy, sending off my lease agreement, even work lately... and the thing is, it bugs me, I know I shouldn't do it and I'm just hurting myself by doing i...

All my ex girlfriends could be defined as "Broken".
I don't intentionally set out to find them that way, but it's what's happened.
I'm not sure if it's just an abberation due to low sample size, or if it's actually a preference.

I have to multitask or I'm bored. But if I get distracted, sometimes things fall apart.

But ya, I'm usually doing several things at once. I like it that way.

I love the irony of arranging a meeting, on a board for people with physically induced sociability problems.
:D

But it's still not a bad plan. ;)

I have a long fuse. Way longer than it should be. That said, I do get irritated quickly. I've just learned to hide it because of all the social conditioning. Of course, after long hours (like the movie I was just working on... boy that was a long year!!), that tends to go away. The folks on set were...

I'm desensitized to it all. And every time the mass media goes on about some poor blonde white rich girl tragically murdered, I think of the thousands of people who died across the world, that minute, from hunger or thirst or preventable disease.
Then I change the channel.

I moved every 6 months or so for the first 16 years of my life. So I thought my social problems were related to that. And my behavioral problems... well, my folks told me I was just a nutjob and a bad kid, that I was too smart (and smart-ass) for my own good. My dad would get madder and madder at me...

I recommend making an intellectual task out of social situations. Study, list, and categorize approaches and items that work, cross reference them, make it all a learning experience. I've worked on it for the last several years, and I can now usually successfully bluff my way through most social sit...

Hi ya'll! Forgive me if my first thread is a repeat. I looked but didn't see. :) I'm curious how you all think, ie what is your cognitive process? I'm an associative thinker. I usually have to follow a thread of thought to get where I'm going (the typical joke of Person:"Hi Fred!" Fred:"That's right...

I've started drinking socially in the last year or two, and I think there's several bonuses... - most people around you are drunk, so they don't notice your oddities so much - drinking alleviates social fear. At least for me. After several stiff ones I worry a lot less about talking to strangers. - ...

I've gotten very good at getting people to talk about themselves. A few directing questions and they'll ramble on forever about whatever is on their minds. If they try to direct the conversation to me, I just make some jokes and move back to them. Depending on the person, a little self-depricating h...

Your Aspie score: 166 of 200 Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 27 of 200 You are very likely an Aspie Some of the questions struck me as oddly worded, or a little ambiguous. Some clarification at the beginning wouldn't hurt. For instance, there are some things, socially, that I wouldn't normal...

Sorry if it's already out there and I missed it, but does anyone have the definitive list of Aspie symptoms?
I'd love to say which ones I (hope I) don't have, but I don't know the whole list. :)

I get them too, though not to that degree. But my arm will jerk up or I'll kick out or something unintentional. And I have pretty bad balance too, though I always put that down to ankle injury.

Does anyone know, is this something AS related, or is it just coincidental?

*laughs* I was just cleaning up my (old) bedroom yesterday so a new roomie can move in. 5 glasses/mugs and at least 6 water bottles. The computer room had several glasses, bottles, juice containers, cans, etc. The living room had a bunch more. And I try to have a rule against leaving stuff laying ar...
