I really appreciate what you are trying to say, and I believe that powerful women as role models are brilliant. However, OP is not a woman. He is a man, but his body doesn't align with who he really is, and this causes him great distress, as he said. The distress is called dysphoria. Waking up with...

INFJ. Never seen anybody else who is that, so it's cool to see two other INFJs in this thread!

I cry at anything! I will cry at films, books, when I see others being kind, when I'm just overwhelmed... But I don't think there is anything wrong with not crying a lot. Crying isn't the only way to show sadness, and you aren't selfish or wrong for not crying at deaths, etc. I realise that it must ...

I'm a gay trans man (pre-transition, due to mental health/financial constraints, but hopefully getting back on the horse later this year) who is dating a cis man. We are very happy together, and he is very understanding of my dysphoria. I would say that in order to date a cis guy (or another trans g...

I would agree that medicines in general are over prescribed, not just to autistic people. However, not all medicines are bad, and I'm sick of the stigma that surrounds psychiatric medication in general. I was an utter mess before I started the medicine that I currently take (pregabalin, Venlafaxine)...

Really hate the sound of my voice. It sounds nasal to me, cracks all the time/sometimes goes squeaky for no good reason, and my accent fluctuates between fairly strong for the area in which I live to just... weird. I can also be very loud and monotone. It sounds fake to me when I try to put emotion ...

From an early age I was flexible. I have hypermobile elbows and at least 2 fingers on both hands. I wonder if it is a mutation. Does it cause you any pain or problems? I sprained my shoulder/neck recently, and though it was partially from stress (tension, grinding my teeth), I suspect it was partia...

Thank you for all the links in your post! I'm grateful for the help and support :) If I could give some tips, I'd suggest strengthening your core muscles and making sure you walk/sit/hold things correctly. Some of my problems stem from doing stuff (like standing up, walking, etc) wrong for so long. ...

I'm very rarely bored, but when I am, I feel like this. I often find it hard to concentrate and will switch activities, but to me that isn't the same as feeling bored. I'm sorry to hear that it affects you so much. It sounds intolerable. When I am bored, I have to wait for it to pass. It's hard for ...

I've seen that there is possibly a link between autism spectrum disorders and joint hypermobility syndrome, EDS, etc. I know there is also a link between hypermobility and anxiety. I have Aspergers, and also joint hypermobility syndrome. It was only diagnosed in me last year, but I've had joint prob...

Hello! My name is NAS, as you can see, which is short for my regular username as I wanted to keep my activity on this forum semi-private. My dad has an account here already, and that's how I was introduced to these forums. I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 14 or so. I was having a lot of tro...
