One of the purported treatments for autism is the Gluten-Free/Casein-Free (GFCF) diet. Studies have failed to find a benefit, but the idea persists. Especially among those who believe that autism is a vaccine injury (it isn’t) and that mercury in vaccines contributed to the rise in autism rates (it... |

Can you explain more what your mean by categorical hierarchies with regard to emotional connection and reality? I am thinking that you use preset categorizations for situations you find yourself in; that is, your response is not instinctive but thoughtful. Am I on the right track? That's part of it... |

I am being forced to go to a ball next week. It will have about 600 people attending. I'm very anxious that I will become over-stimulated by loud music and lots of people. Also, I have never been to an event like this before. Does anybody have any advice for coping in such a situation? I am really ... |

I notice that I can emotionally connect better to reality when I can break it down into categorical hierarchies. Can anyone else relate to this?
I don't just mean understand reality. I mean emotionally connect to it, and feel engaged with it. |

Yes I get what you mean. I know a lot of things. But when I try to explain what I understand and mean. It makes me look like I'm stupid and dumb. So yes if that's what you mean. Is that what you mean? That's definitely part of it. I can explain things pretty well on the phone but in person I can te... |

Hey there, I suspect I Have Asperger's and am planning to get an appointment with a diagnostician. Can any of you relate to this feeling that you are incredibly intelligent and can somehow compute details of life that no one else thinks about, but when you observe your social behavior, you realize t... |

I am NT, but I am kind of borderline NT; I'm just a few points away on the tests given by psychologists from ASD. Whenever nobody is home, I absolutely love to walk back and forth, from one end of the house to the other. I normally accompany this behavior with "interviewing myself". I bas... |

I'm suffering from this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primarily_obsessional_obsessive_compulsive_disorder About 7-8 years ago I was taking some supplements to treat my autism, and it like, made it too easy to inhibit my emotional compass or something. All I want is absolute assurance that I woul... |

I'd say you definitely fit the Asperger's diagnosis. I myself was diagnosed 15 years ago and have many of the same character traits you listed. Thank you for your input. Maybe I'll print these off and bring them to a specialist. It's like, even when my depression is better and I am taking care of m... |

Hey there. After long consideration, and dealing with a number of issues throughout my whole life, I am wondering if I have Asperger's. I'm planning on finding a specialist to help determine a diagnosis, but for now, I was wondering if I'd be able to get some feedback based on my symptoms: - I do NO... |
