I had my initial appointment with a psychologist and will be assessed in April. You may not need your mom. I haven’t been asked to have my parents involved in the process at least not yet. I would do my best to go to appointments alone. I was going to have an assessment done in June, but spent the m...

Has anyone had a bad experience that has made them self conscious in social situations? I had a very bad experience with a boss/job. I was called cold, aloof and told I hated or didn't care about a coworker and the students there. I would walk by people without saying hi simply because I was deep in...

I'm being assessed at the end of June, but I found someone who speacialized in autism in women. Her name is Tania Marshall. It's not cheap but I'd rather go this route rather than risking another bad experience with a mental health professional.

I have the same problem and pretty much the same questions even though I'm not in college. I'm an identical twin and that has been my saving grace until more recent years. Her friends were my "friends". She dragged me to go out and socialize more than I otherwise would and even picked out ...

I found myself waving my fingers. I swiveled side to side in my chair and bounced/rocked my foot. I felt better doing that but I didn't want to be weird. I decided to take off work today. I woke up really early and was already feeling overwhelmed dreading going to work. Of course, this doesn't make ...

I haven't been diagnosed with aspergers, but I'm just about certain I have it. I'll be assessed for it at the end of June. Today was a difficult day at work. I'm a substitute teacher on a long term assignment as a computer lab teacher. For the past several days the students, ranging from Kindergarte...
