Same as you. You're not alone. There's lots of videos at this website to boost your confidence in front of people.

I'd be interested in those videos, I saw a section for videos here but couldn't see any related. May someone can link them?

I've always found it easier to give a speech than participate in a group discussion. I like that I can rehearse the speech in advance and I don't have to think on the spot or deal with rapid subject changes or social cues. Thanks to all of you for your precious tips. Only thing I forgot to mention is that I won't be standing in front of the audience, the class arrangement will be like this: http://wordpress.viu.ca/ciel/files/2014/01/horseshoe-desks.jpg This is the worst setting I can imagine because I'll be surrounded...

To speak in front of a group, what I do is convince myself that I'm someone else, preferably someone powerful that has/had an influence on others. It gives me a lot of confidence. Plus, if I make a mistake, it's not really 'me' that's made a mistake, it's someone else... 8O what do you do to convin...

Intelligence is abstract, depends on what you are measuring. Social skills, math, language, art... there are hundreds of things a human can do, and not two can do the same And what if you suck at all of those things? Memorizarion and studying are kind of ok but that's it for me, I'm even slower tha...

Chill on the use of the word "ret*d", buddy. Especially on a forum dedicated to people with mental disorders. You having bad social skills doesn't mean you have aspergers in the same way that being sad doesn't mean you're depressed. I'm pretty sure that striving to have mental disorders i...

than the ret*d I actually am. If I were autistic I could at least seek friendship with peers but as a ret*d I have no one to turn to. I got an high score at Aspie quiz but that's because I'm socially ret*d and stupid in general. Being around people is worse than hell and that's not going to change ...

I did the full test too, everything was kind of average except the verbal memory one: visual memory: around 9000, 38% (4 attempts I think) Verbal memory: 107, 96% (1 attempt) Reaction time after several attempts was 340, 24% Number memory=9, 51% I felt that verbal memory was very easy, I was not eve...
