I understand your perspective, despite not having classic autism myself. I never really liked the Asperger's term at all, and I just refer to my diagnosis as "high-functioning autism," as I technically was diagnosed after Asperger's was removed from the DSM. The term "aspie" pers... |

I have Spatial Sequence Synesthesia, meaning I can essentially "see" time out in space around me. I can always see the same picture of specific sequences out around me, always in the same shape. For me, I picture months of the year, years themselves, days of the week, and most numbers in g... |

I have a really similar situation to what you describe actually. Like you, I'm not sure whether I would qualify for a diagnosis of excoriation disorder under the DSM-V, but I do pick my skin a lot every day to the point where I injure myself and bleed by picking at minor imperfections compulsively. ... |

I have seen this in lists for signs of autism and for signs of dyscalculia, actually, but I believe it is most prevalent in dyscalculia. |

I can tell you that I felt the same way and I was in the exact same position that you are in now. Today, I am currently taking 150mg of sertraline (Zoloft) daily and I no longer feel that strongly about it as I once did. I had struggled with severe OCD symptoms for about two years before I finally c... |

Doing lots of music? Oh yeah. I am still playing the violin, but I also joined marching band and I play the mellophone, which is like a marching French Horn (I am also playing French Horn in concert band as well). We are actually going on a trip next week for 5 days, which I am really looking forwa... |

My OCD has also gotten so much better over the past year with the addition of the SSRI. It did not start working until I ... |
