What if everyone, regardless of neurological conditions, suffers from black and white thinking when it comes to some behaviors, mindsets, etc and sees shades of gray in others? |

I don't have an answer to this because I don't know if the symptoms are real or in my head. Ever since I entertained the idea that I might have ASD of some kind, I ignore it for a few weeks and then check up on this forum, and retake the Autism Quotient test, where I always fall 34-36. From my point... |

That's a good point, there are a few people I know in real life with ASD diagnoses and I was really surprised when I found out. |

I recently travelled abroad (U.S. resident, travelled to the Netherlands). I'll share one thing I wish I would have done: Plan out eating in advance. I had to travel for work and did not have much time to plan for the trip. I was travelling alone so I didn't have anyone to rely on. I didn't know how... |

I hate how each question has two different, mutually exclusive statements which may or may not be relates, and then they ask you to agree or disagree. |

I don't buy desserts or sweets from anywhere other than a grocery store because I don't want to look like a maladjusted manchild. Kind of sucks and I might just have to get over it, but new experiences are difficult. |

Be aware that recording someone without their consent can rightfully be considered harassment. The fact that you both remember the incident from a few years ago and you're still running into each other indicates to me that your behavior played a role in this happening, and it could be considered sta... |

SJW is a term used to denigrate anyone who isn't a member of the majority/mainstream or anyone who believes that all human beings are entitled to respect.
I wouldn't worry about being called an SJW because the people who use the term are bad people. |

If you are fairly sure you are on the spectrum and are able to recognise your difficulties I really don't see much point in adult diagnosis The problem is that nobody has a truly accurate perception of themselves, and so without a diagnosis, I am not comfortable identifying as anything other than s... |

I've done LSD a few times. More than anything, I was hoping LSD would allow me to connect with people and open up in a way that I don't normally open up, like I've read about. But just like with any other drug I've taken, my defenses don't let up. So, while it's a great experience for me (the way co... |

 Now that I think about it, there was one instance in the past where I felt disabled, and it's actually related to the first time I heard the term Asperger's. Kind of random, but why not share. I remember in high school I was taking a writing course, and three weeks or so in came the first rea... |

I didn't create any elaborate stories, but I thought being fat and gay is why I always felt outside of the group, but after getting older I realized fat gay people aren't always in the outgroup and thin straight people aren't always in the ingroup and that a lot of the assumptions I had were wrong. |

Do you have vacation days that could be used instead of medical leave. Not the best solution, but if you really need to keep it secret... I do not officially have any paid time off, and I am paid on a salary that has no mechanism for taking unpaid time off, so any time off needs to be negotiated di... |

But there are positive things too. Knowing about yourself, finding out what your strengths and weaknesses are, has to be a great help in working out practical coping strategies to limit the damage and use what Rdos calls "Aspie talents" to your advantage. For example, I know that I'm stro... |
