I find I always have to be moving. When it's not for a specific purpose (work, walking, hobbies), i feel the need to keep moving for no purpose (pacing, bouncing my knee, chewing my nails, tapping my fingers). The only times I really stop moving is when i consciously focus on staying still (quite di...

Sadly, when I discovered Internet I moved from reading a lot of books to reading a lot of web articles. Now I'm trying to recover some regular reading of books and blocking from reading my obsessions in Internet.

Have you considered getting a kindle or other such reading device?

In my opinion, the best teachers are the ones that can talk completely calmly and quietly and still command the respect of the class. And when they do get loud, it's for very good reason.

I wanna thank everyone who's posted. You' ve been a big help. Hopefully we've helped future people too, who are going to be googling this stuff. I found reading forums on aspiecentral, psychforums, and this site answered alot of questions I had. Created tons more too, but I think I'm closer to where...

I think the main question you need to ask yourself is have you always, from being a small child felt this way, have the difficulties you discribe. What was school like, were you bullied? I have always felt different. That sounds extremely cliche, I know. I should actually say, I've always KNOWN I'm...

OK, so its IMPOSSIBLE to diagnose you on a forum. no one (as far as i know) is qualified to diagnose anyone with anything but im sure you know that. I agree 100%. My purpose in posting is to create a discussion on this to help me better understand, which is working great. I'm definitely not confide...

I know what you mean. I often find being direct about it to be the best thing to do. I tell my friends things like, "if I'm going on and on, feel free to tell me. I won't be insulted." Or ill periodically ask the person if they want to do or talk about something else. Eventually, I get use...

Benjamin, do you have any special topics/interests you spend a lot of time on and easily get obsessed with? :D Yes, to some degree. I would say I have a fairly obsessive personality when it comes to hobbies. I never really like to do things for only a little bit. And i like to go all out. My most r...

I am not currently looking to get a professional assessment, as I haven't given up yet on testing to see if I can be satisfied by self-diagnosis. I'd rather avoid being in the system for now. As for stimming, I've rapidly bounced my right knee up and down for as long as i can remember. Same with che...

Hi, I'm trying to discover if I'm an aspie or not. My sister has mentioned to me twice in the past few years that i might be. She mentioned it most recently 3 weeks ago, and since then, I've been been frequently googling quirky things about myself to see if i can find a correlation between them and ...
