All artists have costs. Saying they are upfront really has no bearing. Anyway it is not a lot, most arts only want $25 worth if prints and we typically split a $250 event between 3 people carpooling, Its a table at convention, and prints for pennies on the dollar. Rarely we stay long enough for a ho...

Uhg...very terrible. Most sickening, I have workplace PTSD from that kind of scenario. I too found that most my "too bright" jobs were where I was put to a task then became highly irritated by and was compelled optimize systemic inefficiencies and other uncalled for redundancies. But I kno...

Ugh. On the subject of bladder issues and being a verbally articulate Autistic, I have a few things to say, and maybe some hope. I wet the bed consistently until I turned 12. Due to my stepfather resorting to humiliation, Like locking me outside the house in my wet nightclothes first thing in the mo...

That is certainly an irritating case my fellow primate. I sympathize. I am in my 40s I have had over 40 jobs from 25 different employers. One strategy I used in my bullheaded struggle was position hopping. Each time you move to a new job title/responsibility you can use the "learning curve"...

Personally. I excelled at finding jobs and getting promoted. A result of position hopping to hide my unavoidable failures with readily available learning curve allowances. In 90% of cases I rocked the boat then eventually quit because I refused to let insults slide from those who dared to notice my ...

No ASD, disabled, or any marginal group should ever support socialists. The end result is universally to be as inclusive as possible which by definition spreads the wealth which in turn lowers standard of living. Which of course does literally the most damage to those unfortunate enough to be on the...

....is patently stupid. We don't control the weather. That would be something actually "super" It, the weather, already does a bang up job wiping out 99 9% of all life ever known just fine, sans humanity. She, this Great beast, is just a kid who doesn't understand the serious repercussions...

Seriously. Not a single ASD artist who is professional or ready to break into the professional artist life? Wtf is wrong with us? I cant possibly be doing this kind of thing as the sole example of ASD artists planetwide? Are we limited to the argument of the beard? Where we are just either ultra rar...

If he has no crippling issues the fellow is being strongly defensive in that context. If he does have impairing struggles it sounds like denial. I for one, despite being high functioning, barely passed high school and failed to complete 3 trade schools and 2 colleges, my debts (that will be a loss f...

It was bandied about by those close to me after my daughter was diagnosed. This lasted about 15 years. Then apparently when I was being treated for co-morbid depression, anxiety, ptsd, etcetera, I was diagnosed with it and didn't understand that I was diagnosed for nearly half a year. Until I inquir...

Sounds a lot like andrenal fatigue. This is more common in people who are over stressed daily, like PTSD, ASD, or other chronic sufferers. No treatment yet so it isn't in the med books/ this not covered as real by insurance. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/addisons-disease/expert-answ...

Yep it is a curse. Not in some supernatural mumbo jumbo way either. The issues are not curable, they make your life harder in ways NTs don't experience and give no real trade off. Some of you have expressed being blessed. ASD being good for anything is pure malarkey. My skin burning because my thres...

Well that is certainly better than I would do. Pretty sure if I attempted that it would either put people to sleep or make children cry, maybe both.

Always risky. Just find out what you like, get good at it, figure out a way to make money with it. Debt isn't necessary, just a good way to help you fail.

That is a familiar song and dance. In my case, the Autism eventually always wins. I have had 25 employers, in the role of 35 different positions all in attempts to hide my weakness. Also 7 "under the table" jobs makes for 42 failures. I didn't know I had job related ptsd until the therapis...

It is a load of saccharine reverse psychology. Most medical professionals that are educated in autism know that we die of suicide "accidents" and heart attacks. So to CYA their positions they say crap like "autism is a gift". See I am a good person, I am saying encouraging things...
