A quote I heard somewhere “Mental illness tries to keep people stuck in the past. The best thing a person with mental illness can do is move forward”. One thing to keep in mind, even though what you’re going through is bad, EVERYONE is going through something, everyone has struggles in their life, &...

there aren't any normal people in this world, just people who aren't autistic. the "normal people" you see probably have their own problems, anything from depression to financial struggles to traumatic events in their past.

the reason you shouldn’t stim is that it makes other people uncomfortable. just like stimming makes you feel comfortable, people who act normal make NT’s feel comfortable. If you need to stim or feel like your gonna have a melt down, you can ask to go to the bathroom or take a walk, and then come ba...

I don’t listen to him because of the bad thing’s he’s done, plus the subject matter doesn’t interest me at all. I doubt there are a lot of autistic rappers out there, but I’ve heard people say that chief kerf is autistic, I don’t listen to him either. Mostly I like travis scott, asap rocky, and lil ...

I get you, I don't care about any of that stuff either and I don't get why people do, but it's important to not put down people that do care about stuff or make them feel bad about liking it.

Your son’s story seems pretty unique, I feel bad for everything he went through, but I don’t think you can draw broad conclusions on autism as a whole based on it. If the school is failing your son, it’s their fault, not the diagnosis of autism. the school system isn’t always going to be on your sid...

Thanks so much, my psychology teacher is kinda crazy, she always teaches using some kind of metaphor when I'd much prefer something more literal like a powerpoint. I did the research sheet(which was eazy cause I already know a ton about autism), but I was stumped when it came to the fairy tale, so i...

Hello, me teacher gave us an assignment where we have to research a disorder and use a fairytale to represent it. I choose autism because I know alot about it, but I'm not sure what fairytale to use. do you guys know of any fairytales where the main character has characteristics similar to autism?

I despise the term. There no such thing as “nerds”, just people who like to play video games and D&D. And theres no such thing as “jocks”, just people who like to play sports. There’s so much more to people than that. And yes, it completely puts people in a box: so called “nerds” should be encou...

kinda. often times I’m obsessing over something, and then I think, this is stupid, what am I doing with my life? And I’ve found that this has happened more and more as I’ve gotten older. But I still have to force my self to stop, and I still spend hours on end looking up my special interests on the ...
