I am like 1/3 your age. I am a real person. You could have been either constructive or silent much like everybody else respectfully did. |

What happens with so many people is that they are so desperate to have a significant other in their life that they force the first person who gets close enough to them into a role. That role being what they want in a partner without any consideration as to "who" the person they are curren... |

She was slightly taller and almost 10 kg heavier than me. We fought a lot because of my emotional unavailability. She ended up taking a habit of attempting self harm in front of me or giving me a flurry of slaps during arguments. A couple times she also jumped on top of me when I didn't want to have... |

I find curves and the females buttocks turns me on and I guess boobs are okay but I find vaginas unappealing. Does that make me gay that I don't like vaginas? There are sexual interactions that don't involve direct contact with the other's genitals. Other than this, I have a similar confusion. I lo... |

You could make a case for borderline but NPD And ASPD can't exist with ASD especially ASPD ASD and ASPD conflict in many ways.. You can have narcissistic traits though. but in general the cluster b personalities are somewhat conflicting cause they are manipulative something that autistic people str... |

My mother had misunderstood someone I had said in a literal way, and she asked: "do you ever hint at wanting something without asking for it?" I answered no. I thought "no and it is a dumb and unrespectful behavior. First I think about what I want, then I think if it's ok to ask or no... |

'You use autism as an excuse for everything.' 'Don't let your disability define you.' 'Don't ever let people tell you that you can't.' Honestly? I'd think "whatever" in the best case and "f*ck off" in the worst. Then, I'd reply with the most uninterested "ok" I can pro... |

I don't like it. Having Aspergers to me is an enigma, not only because all the people I deal with in my daily life are nd and uneducated about Aspergers, but also because I don't understand it well myself, and the risk of reducing Aspergers to a caricature is far too frequent. Covering all these pro... |

I guess the autistic life is a pendulum oscillating between "you're ret*d but savant" and "you're a perfectly normal dickhead". I'm told I'm a perfectly normal dickhead more often than not, so I'm not expected to have superpowers, although I have one: putting up with so much from... |

So far two things come to my mind. 1. the border between causes and consequences of behavioral patterns is often blurred, especially regarding past or other people's experiences, and this is a big problem. 2. To think that, after 4 years of therapy, I look more autistic than ever, makes me feel bett... |

I didn't know whether to post this in the general, in the parents' section or here. If it's too long go straight to the 4 questions below. I don't want to state or ask if there is a scientifically/statistically proven link between having Aspergers and having a cluster B (narcissistic, histrionic, an... |

Your therapist actually sounds like a really sensible person. I really like that he gets that NT people talk past each other and are not aware of it. I had the feeling your therapist was not as bad as some people here would have it. We sometimes give up on people too fast, I think. It was really gr... |

Hi everyone! I've seen my therapist and I've told him all the discussion we've had here. He admitted he doesn't have the specialization to diagnose or un-diagnose me, agreed with me when I said mild autism isn't a list of symptoms indicating a problem but a group of peculiarities which can give prob... |

I just can't explain myself when I'm asked "ok but how is what you do any different from what everybody else does in their heads". I want to know how you know what is going on in other people's heads. I don't know. This is why I can't address this problem. An example: I feel an acquaintan... |

Your therapist is clueless about autism especially in adults. Being straightforward is often one presentation of autism. But autistics after repeated admonishments and consequences for being straightforward can and do learn not to be straightforward. Autism is a spectrum meaning it encompasses a wi... |

That's a technique he's been taught , to draw patients out and get them talking, without upsetting them. He's blowing smoke up your @$$. While he never tells YOU he's certain about anything, you can bet what he's writing about you in his reports is concrete certainty, and will have lasting effect o... |
