My major involves significant laboratory time. Although I picked it out of pure interest for the theoretical part, I was always uncertain about how I would perform in practical classes. Anyways, I have a problem with tremors/shaking due to performance anxiety but I already solved that problem by tak... |

It depends on how much studying I've done beforehand and the time available to do the test. A lot of times in my university mid tests have a very short duration (1h, 1h30min) so everyone finishes pretty much at the same time; when the time is up the room is still full of people. Yesterday though I h... |

I read some of your other posts. You seem like an intelligent person to me. Some people say that (my parents included). But I don't think I am smart and I have evidence of that (I have a tendency of making really stupid mistakes during tests and I only realize what I've done after reflecting on my ... |

No, it's not. Self-hate is purely a product of one's environment, and how one reacts to it. Your parents sound like nice people. Why do you think you're "defective?" And don't say it's because you have autism LOL I'm actually not diagnosed (and I wouldn't dare to self diagnose, so let's j... |

Hi k.wolf :D , I'd challenge you thusly: Even a really good cardiologist, for example, knows some things skimmingly and others things well. And that's one way we as human beings think and understand the world around us. So, I think it's okay to rush through some things. I'd also encourage you to ex... |

Hello. I cannot remember a single day of my life where I can say I liked myself. I had my first wish to die when I was still a child. From my teenage years onwards I have been plagued with suicidal thoughts. They may go away for a few weeks or days but once something bad happens or when my actions h... |

I'm an international student at an university. In the country I'm located people learn differential calculus in secondary school (I think it would be the equivalent of high school for north-america). I'm taking calculus 1 right now and the beginning of the semester was quite turbulent for me; in my ... |

I am living in another country and I am completely isolated. Not only do I not have any friends, I also do not have any acquaintances. There are some days I don't even say a word. Generally I am okay with not having any friends, because it's a lot of effort to make them and keep them. But I'm in col... |

I feel like I could have written this post, are you me?? haha. Sorry I don't have much advice, but I know what you mean. It gets to a point where, even knowing people say the label doesn't matter and some category might not really fix things, it feels like it just isn't even an option and there abs... |

I do...it's near impossible for me to have a conversation in a noisy environment, I have to tell people to repeat themselves multiple times; like, sometimes I will hear the words but I kind of need to make sure it's what I think it is, and sometimes the background noise completely overpowers anythin... |

I did the exact same thing with gender, years ago. I think it's outright obsessiveness. I know that applies to me. But it's also natural for an intelligent person to have a problem, and then seek an answer that they can be satisfied with, that explains away that problem. And if you think about your... |

Whenever I go through periods of extreme social isolation I noticed I begin obsessing over labeling myself with something. I start seeking an explanation for why I am so different from everyone else and why I struggle so much with social interaction - why I feel so exhausted during it or afterwards,... |

Written text - I can express myself much better this way and I have more time to review my message. When I speak the words that come out of my mouth are almost always different than what I had planned out in the first place. I hate talking on the phone. I get the timing wrong or I can't hear the oth... |

Sometimes when that happens I won't say that life sucks, and instead say that I suck. And I have a pile of evidence to back that up. Liking myself feels impossible. |

I think that's probably a good idea (the appointment). It sounds like you need to first take care of the depression before you can work on the rest. Good luck, and try to stay positive! Yeah I thought it was a good idea as well. Turns out it wasn't. It was probably the worst, most incomplete medica... |
