Failed algebra the first time. Got an A+ in geometry. I think it's something to do with the abstract-ness of algebra that makes it incredibly difficult for me.

My dogs are my saving grace. They keep me sane and for now, off anti-depressants. I'd recommend adopting a non-puppy from the humane society or the pound. Find a breed/breeds/mix that will convene with your lifestyle--you can do a google search for "choosing dog breeds" or something, and a bunch of ...

Hi Chris, I just wrote a long, detailed reply, but before I could hit submit, my dog licked the keyboard and firefox closed. (I kid you not.) So here's an abridged version, yet no less serious. a) Please take all of these comments (including mine) with a grain of salt at best. None of these people a...

I'm afraid too. I was in a 3-year relationship (my longest) about 10 years ago, and have had no relationships that have lasted longer than 6 months since then. Most last only a couple months, if we manage to get past the first date. I get really involved in a relationship, when I'm in one, and that ...

A perfectly written list of things I'll need for my new craft project (that I'd never follow through with) or information for the new website that I'll never create. Basically I'd just like to know if it has to be more of a long-term thing or lifetime dedication type obsession to be considered an A...

 I can think of a lot of reasons not to have kids, but they apply to all humans.

Doing that sort of thing got me taken advantage of when young and a teen. I would give people nice presents, sweets, stuff my dad bought back from abroad, and in the end, they would all be nasty to me again as soon as they got what they wanted. They preyed on my kindness and my strong desire to hav...

Thank you to everyone who has replied, and anyone who does later on. This has been helpful. I didn't take offense to anyone's replies...We should be understanding in here if nowhere else. I know I should just do my best for now and let the future unfold, but it is hard, as a mother, not to want som...

Any crushes I have tend to turn into obsessions. Feelings of attraction just register as anxiety and pain. I would like my romance chip to be turned off completely. [sigh] i feel you. They make a pill for that, though. Seriously, it's called an SSRI , and not only does it help with obsessing, it al...

It's a LOT easier to organize someone else's existence, than your own. :P Yes indeed. :ninja: I'm curious... where does ADHD fit into this spectrum? It's very different from AS and Autism. :? Um, actually, there are a lot of shared symptoms: inattentiveness, hyperfocus (for some ADHD subtypes), imp...

I think prolonged isolation is what led my aspie friend to the loony bin. Humans are, after all, social creatures. It's hard to do when you're depressed, but getting out of the house helps a lot. Even just taking a walk, interacting with others at the store--usually makes me feel a little better. Ha...

Metaphysics Epistemology Ethics Aesthetics The four branches of philosophy. And within each one, there exist many theories. This is akin to asking, "do you know what is ethical and what isn't?" The theory that "beauty is subjective" is but one of many. I believe it to be so, but only to a degree. I ...
