If you can't remember not to inflict pain on other people I don't know how to help you. You kind of disgust me, to be honest. You didn't say what you are saying disgusts me (which I still don't really understand why it would) you said you kind of disgust me. So it came off in a very hurtful manner....

@ColanderHead76 Thank you for sharing your story! I really hope that you will find a community on this site! :D I'm pretty new on here as well, if you want to meet new people you should make a post on the getting to know each other board! There are a lot of really kind people on there and I'm sure y...

@kraftiekortie Yeah I know, a lot of the autistic traits of my character are similar to my own experiences or the experiences of friends. I just wanted to see what other people would/wouldn't want to see :D

@kraftiekortie Thank you!! And this is a really good question, I hadn't really thought about it! So I did some quick math! A standard sized book is nine inches tall so 9000000000000 inches would be about 142,000,000 miles and earth's surface area (if my google search is correct) is 196,936,994 miles...

@lostonearth35 Yeah! I think it's really interesting! And I'm personally the same way, I can only get hugs from my family and a few other people that I trust completely. I asked my sister if she wants me to stop hugging her altogether and she said no she just wants me to figure out a way to hug more...

@ColanderHead76 That sucks! I hope that you were able to find people who love and support you! Don't worry about the hugging, you just have to be aware of how hard you are hugging and be careful with people who are more fragile.

@Raleigh Saying anyone is disgusting for wanting to get better at hugging in a gentle and respectful way is very rude. If you don't want to help or give advice please do not reply to my thread anymore.

Thank you for the advice! No worries LegoMaster2149 they aren't going to be the savant stereotype because that has always bothered me as well! And TheAP thank you for such a detailed reply! It's really helpful! I'm not too worried about them being detached or unrealistic as I based most of their aut...

I wanted to know if there were any tropes that I should avoid when writing an autistic character or things that you personally dislike when it comes to autistic representation. Also what experiences you would like to see explored further in writing?

No, the LGBT+ community is not a "deranged cult" that's like saying that everyone on this site is part of a deranged cult. It's a community, there's a difference. Political view and sexual preference are not connected and protesters advocating for left leaning issues are not necessarily al...

The idea of hugging someone so hard that their ribs break is terrifying! I never want to hurt anyone, especially my family! I'm trying my best to be gentle but most of the time I don't realize how hard I'm hugging. The only way I've found to stop myself other than not hugging my family (which I don'...

I give ridiculously tight hugs, I've always done this and I'm not sure whether or not this is part of my aspergers. So I wanted to know if anyone else on the spectrum does it. I would also like some advice on how to stop. My sister is pregnant and I don't want to hurt her or my nephew by hugging her...
