As a kid, I thought I didn't fit in because I was highly gifted. I thought my mother got frustrated with me because I was really a deeply evil person who was just pretending to be good (I think this was OCD-related). When I started at a prestigious college and realized I'd only be an average student...

My Vote: Adolescent males in hopped up pickup trucks with jacked up suspensions and overlarge tires, with mudflaps with cutouts of anatomically impossible females on them. Said males who insist on driving well over the speed limit, playing music loudly from bass-enhanced speakers, while ignoring mo...

Don't blame yourself. Guys like this are experts in using manipulation and deceit to keep their cycle of abuse going. There are plenty of other guys out there who are decent and truly caring. You don't have to choose between being alone/single forever or having another bad relationship - that's just...

Dear Fellow Bus Passengers, Please use courtesy when chewing gum. The sight, smell, and sound of chewing gum are major sensory issues for me. Please chew your gum quietly, without popping or snapping. Please do not chew strong-smelling flavors like grape and cinnamon. Please do not spit your gum on ...

What is meant by "Acting Out?" It is used to describe behavior in kids, but what behaviors are being discussed? Also, how do you Parents out there, react when you, the Parent, are told this by a teacher about your child? Not a parent, but I think you should press the teacher for more specific infor...

If the Yasmin made you depressed before, you probably shouldn't try it again. If you want to try birth control again, there are literally dozens of brands, each with different formulations. Depression is a major side effect for all brands of the pill, but most women have very different side effects ...

The Doomsday argument is a probability-based argument that predicts that there is a 95% probability that the human race will go extinct within the next 9120 years. The argument assumes that out of the total number of humans that will ever be born in the past or future, at least 5% have already been ...

Most biology programs require 1-2 semesters of calculus. A biology B.S. (bachelor of science degree) will almost certainly require calculus, whereas you may be able to find biology B.A. (bachelor of arts degree) programs that don't require as much math. The B.S. is preferred by some employers and gr...

The same thing has happened to me at all of the food-service/waitressing jobs I've had. A manager would announce some really minor change, like pizza dough needing to be risen for 60 minutes, instead of 30. The rest of the employees would immediately fall into complaining about how this would comple...

Thimoseral was removed from all vaccines that are regularly administered to children under 12 in 1999. The only thimoseral-containing vaccine a child can receive is the optional flu shot, which most children don't receive. The rate of autism diagnosis in small children has not declined. Have you co...

I find it interesting that the website states that homeopathic products were not listed "because of the low amounts of mercury present in the product" then goes on to list products that contain less than .001% mercury. That seems a bit biased to me.

Google "central auditory processing disorder" or "CAPD". This condition is a common comorbid to AS.
