I have a friend in another country, but haven't met up with him for over a year -- the logistics are difficult.

I have another friend elsewhere in this country, but again the logistics are difficult. We haven’t met for several years, and now only exchange birthday and Christmas cards.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Not sure what else I can say actually! :D (Have never had kids, so I can't really relate, so I wouldn't want to pitch in with advice — not that you've asked for advice anyway.)

Obsessively, not for phone calls but for web browsing, Twitter, emails etc.

I find smartphones are fantastic for occupying myself in a pub or café. Before smartphones, I'd read newspapers (but not now that newspaper quality has declined (because smartphones etc. I suppose)).

ISFP-T.

I did this on 16personalities, and the description it came up with afterwards just doesn't feel like me. Not sure what happened there.

I'm good at logic (or perhaps I should say: I'm good at logic puzzles, but I'm not a logical person in the everyday sense), maths and computers. I am not good at chess. I cannot remember standard responses to common openings, and I also get bored, lose my thread and make a near-random move just to a...

I self diagnosed when i was 26 and then went on to get a formal diagnosis, i can't say that it really 'helped' me, but it definitely lead me to some helpful websites, books and information. Were you (or are you now?) worried about getting a formal diagnosis? I was always worried about doing that in...

I'm not sure when I realised I was different; maybe in my early teens (early 1970s). I remember trying to talk to my maths teacher about it, in my late teens, but he responded "Oh, well we're all different!" and I never tried again with anyone. And I'm not sure when it dawned on me when I ...

Quickie about me: late 50s, male, British, and self-diagnosed as somewhere on the autism spectrum (probably Asperger's).

First time I've ever admitted to anyone I'm probably an aspie. Not sure how I feel about it (have never felt comfortable about labelling myself). :?
