Hi, I'm looking for a course that helps parents of children with ASD, ideally in the Essex/South Essex area. I've looked across many, many websites, NAS, county/local council, AutismLinks etc but i can't seem to pin down any specific course provisions. I'd greatly appreciate any recommended courses ...

'We like routines and familiarity' Who doesn't? The point is the lower ability to deal with any cognitive stress associated with change by not being able to support anxiety reduction through identifying opportunity and soothing it through generalisation. Hence the inflexibility and adverse reaction ...

I have to say that 'NT' bashing, as if NTs are somehow inferior is at best a naivety born from pride or a complete lack of comprehension of their abilities. Over the years i have become more enlightened, they do work in mysterious ways (to me) but actually they are truly gifted. I would never make t...

'Often times, they point to an autism diagnosis, despite the fact that autism has absolutely no link to violence. Even bringing up autism in these stories, serves no purpose, and confuses audiences into thinking it must be related.' But what then when the perpetrator of violence uses the diagnosis a...

The Autism Activist argument is fundamentally flawed as it places the blame for Autism on the Neurotypical population. In essence, this principle is based on the premise that all negative symptoms or suffering are experienced due to the environmental and social structures and expectations of the NT ...

Neurodiversity cannot cure disability by convincing people they are not disabled. The movement has a sinister agenda to essentially erode the benefits and protection that those with neuro disorders have the right to. The philosophy of neurodiversity is not for the benefit of those with neuro disorde...

I came across an article on the Thinking Persons Guide to Autism that condoned parents grieving an autism diagnosis. What i took issue with was the assertion that parents only grieve because they are either conditioned to or explicitly instructed to. The author is under the illusion that grief is a ...

I would view the book like this. If you don't like the humour of Frankie Boyle (UK comedian) then you will not like this book. If you are prone to taking things at face value and literally, you will not like this book. If you can only view everything through the lens of your own paradigm, you will n...

Neurodiversity is definitely not about 'normalising' autism so it can be removed from the DSM resulting in the erosion of state funded benefits and support and cover from medical insurance.

Life is filled with the opportunity to get offended and feel uncomfortable. How will you cope?

You may have trouble appreciating that. I don't, and my ability to perceive people will illwill and hostility (such as that website) is unimpaired. It's probably funded by George Sorros, all part of divide and rule.

ASD and autism is very hard to comprehend for an NT. And we have trouble appreciating that. So it's easy to see where the misunderstanding can come from and to underestimate how difficult the condition can be for ALL those concerned. NTs need air time to, to get air their confusion and frustration j...

It seems some activists like to promote Aspergers as cognitive difference rather than a disorder. This is primarily a social world and we are primarily a social species. Any condition that undermines social proficiency is a disadvantage, not just a difference. The reason they want to remove it from ...
