The original series and most deffinately Spock until they started do 'humanise' him. To me that's just another example of how NTs view us. Like if they keep talking about the social emotional crap that we will all change and become 'Normal' like them. They do it to all robotic, android, logic based ... |

Suicidal thoughts can be quite common (for me) especially when things are not going well, but taking action is something completely different. I often find myself just wanting to gone to sleep wishing that I will never wake up again. The thought of taking deliberate action is one of letting others d... |

I know the feeling. Apart from my time in the army (9 years), I've changed jobs on a regular basis. My current job is the longest I've ever had at nearly 4 years now. I usually get bored once the technical prolems are solved or just get fed up of the people after feeling that I've let the real me ou... |

NO, I've always hated writing about things in the past, even way back in primary school.
I sometimes keep a log when I'm working on a project, but that tends to be just the facts. I do like keep stats on all the games I play in campaigns. |

I fail to understand how anyone can embrace the abject stupidity and ignorance that is labelled religion. In it's own arguments it is self defeating. |

I get really overwhelmed, to the point of anger and rage (internal) when people arbitrarily break rules that I follow because they are rules. |

Hi Jeff Your story sounds all too familiar to mine in many ways. There are some good books out there on relationships like 'The other half of Asperger's Syndrome'. You both need to read them and it's your wife that needs to understand AS and decide whether she wants to try to cope with it as Aspies ... |

Try to remember that we are all very different and usually need a logical reason to want to learn stuff. Not just because some bunch of NTs (assuming here) decided that everyone needs to learn it to live in this completely false 'society' that they have created. So many of us don't need, or want, to... |

Don't push him. We don't like that. The more people try to push me to do something, the more I resist and go the other way. Leave me alone and i'll think about it and maybe try it later. I guess Aspies like me need to do it it our own time and our own way. Like Magliabechi says. Just use this to eli... |

Hi Mike and welcome. I've not been here long myself There are quite a few of us oldies here on WP. Its quite common that adults find out about their AS as a consequence of various kinds of life failure. AS gives us a pattern of strengths and weaknesses- understanding them enables us to build a life ... |

Hi usagi and welcome to WP
I recommend reading Tony Attwoods 'The complete guide to Asperger's Syndrome'. It helped me a lot with my original self-diagnosis and in deciding what to do from there. |
