I cannot stand the sound, I was in church one day, and the pastor randomly had someone ride a motorcycle inside, in front of the stage, then rev the engine. I flipped out. Not a place I expected to see one. Another week they brought a baby goat though, it was adorable.

That happens to me constantly, I would think in part that a social communications disorder that that would be a factor. I know people in general have a hard time listening, and miscommunications throughout our species is fairly common. I know that just my tone of voice will be misinterpreted, and th...

I did not know that, that's unfortunate. I was also thinking about sand, or salt, since you can get those cheap in bulk. I saw poly pellets even in bulk were still expensive (maybe somewhere I haven't looked though). you couldn't get salt wet, so I think that wouldn't be good, but maybe sand. With a...

Thanks for the support but: the point of life is to reproduce I hear what you are saying, my mother has bipolar and schizophrenia, and autism runs in our family, all genetic. I would offer that reproduction is not just biological. And I know many scoff at adoption when you want it to be your child,...

Layering with denim should work great, I will try that. After I get some material, I could make you a rice one if you want. I don't have the right machine for denim yet, but I think I will probably get that. I am even thinking of mixing the two, it would require less rice. Though just denim would ma...

On the topic of the actual forum originally. I don't think we should hate anyone, we are people, and that's all that matters. I have nothing against any group of people. I think many people who don't have autism wish they were never born. You don't know what life is going to be like for anyone until...

That sounds awesome, for myself I wonder if I would prefer it, because I have a 16 lb. blanket, and I wish it were heavier, I wonder if the weight is comparable. I could definitely see it being enough, I will look into that. That sounds like it would be cost effective in the future, I have a regular...

Alex was doing something in partnership with Autism Speaks at some point. Sorry that I don't recall anything more specific. It was announced on that homepage years ago. About the same time much of the WP population was turning against Autism Speaks. So I recall being puzzled that he would do that. ...

I use a weighted blanket and vest all the time, it is life changing personally. I recommend sensory goods. They are the most cost effective I've found. Also I bought a sewing machine, and am making them out of rice, I want to give them away, and see if other people want to make them too. They aren't...

This is something I have been thinking about a lot. I have wished to not be low functioning but also not judged on my struggles by appearance and a label. I do need to stim, its not just nice, it is the difference between a hellacious (feel like I am going to pass out) to life is actually bearable. ...

I am 100% asexual and aromantic. I still haven't figured out what romantic is supposed to be. I know the stereotypical moon, and weird poetry have something to do with it, but it makes no sense to me. I also don't find any one person more attractive or good looking. I know the societal expectations,...

I reread my post and I agree with you, it could definitely come of as saying you are not suffering, I sincerely apologize that was not my intent. I have been reading a lot about neuro programming, I wasn't trying to imply you are imagining your suffering, but to try looking for positive in new peopl...

I don't know this, but when you say mentally disable people are happy because they don't know any better, I think that would only apply to the very extreme (comatose). I think many people with lowered IQ's are happy, because they are forced to accept their situation, and they have learned to be posi...
