[quote="emergingartist54"] The love of my life has a studio down the hall too, where she is if anything more obsessive than I am and a wonderful artist. I love being with her and I love her being down the hall working away. Lately she's been ill but she'll be back there soon. yeah, she's w...

well, it depends..... If you define "art" as something that is morally good or unambiguous much of the stuff in museums or on movie screens or in literary seminars would not pass muster. Consider Marinetti's Futurist Manifesto, which declares the very influential art of the Italian Futurists as devo...

[quote="Chammes"]"It sounds like there is plenty of antogonism to go around and all three of you need to grow up!" I must admit this comment hurt my feelings. Daniel's Dad and I went to marriage counseling on and off throughout our 14 year marriage. He is generally incapable of being hones...

I used to work with Jews, a lot of them in New York in a financial institutions group that dealt with specialty finance companies. You know, hated debt trap monsters like Providian or the now maligned sub-prime mortgage lenders. What many people do not realize is that much of the personal debt indu...

I find it strange that there are several references here to the idea that Christians are prohibited from lending money while Jews are not. Usury is prohibited in Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy and the Talmud, although there are differences of interpretation of what constitutes usury (ie, what rate ...

Love hurts. You think it's going to last forever, you think you know all you need to know to keep it going and then you find out you don't and it ends, whether she suddenly dumps you or you get so unhappy you walk away, it does hurt. You should play sad songs and walk around and cry for a week and t...

[quote="Chammes"] We see a psychologist every other week - unfortunately my ex-husband insists on going to all Daniel's appointments. He doesn't think Dave should be allowed any input on Daniel's therapy, and makes it quite uncomfortable for Dave to participate. Dave and I talked about it ...

Since when do kids have to like their parents? YOu can't force affection, that only backfires. Aspie insecurity and inflexibility and dislike of change and forced interaction with others certainly explains your son's behavior but lots of kids without any diagnosis would act the same way I think. ( I...

Yes, I find nt's can't follow long trains of aural argument, even supposedly well educated lawyers. this is when i am speaking carefully and using well constructed sentences. they could follow it if they were reading it! This is the way you feel about people, Tim. It might be true in many cases. But it might not be true in all cases! :)

You're a great guy!

Don't worry, Tim. You are clearly still goal-oriented! You made a strategic retreat not a surrender! Also, if your goal is to gain skills and credentials for a good job after college you have to find a field that is a good fit for you, and you are making adjustments based on your experience of colle...

Yes! I'm not faking "normal" as much, I'm not lying to myself and everybody else, I'm not "sucking it up" and judging myself harshly for failing to be nt and life is sweeter. It's a lot easier to be close to the people I really love when I'm not trying to hide. I was always awkward anyway, now I've...
