I don't like this label either (don't like any label in general actually). For "high-functioning" autistic people, it hides their difficulties while, for "low-functioning" autistic people, it hides their abilities. I don't even see the point of saying "okay this one is high-... |

It depends. I think I'm self-conscious about my interests (probably due to my high school experiences) so I try to always check myself. But sometimes the need to talk endlessly about my interests will be stronger than my restrain! In other words, I'm pretty secretive when I'm around my family or peo... |

Oh I relate a lot to your post (I've actually posted something related just a few days ago here). I don't know whether I am aspie or not either. But in any case, I'm definitely totally not like everyone else (well who is like everyone else you're gonna say). And like you, I've tried very hard to pas... |

I don't know if it's that unusual but when I was 7 maybe (I don't really remember my exact age but I was definitely in primary school), I had an obsessive interest in the weather forecast. I couldn't miss the weather forecast otherwise I would feel very bad! Also in primary school, I had an obsessiv... |

As you already mentioned, only a doctor can diagnose you, and we can only give you our opinions here, but I will try to give you mine :D . One thing that stood out to me whilst reading your post was the emphasis you put on one trait of autism- "having friends." You don't need to have ever... |

...flummoxed at their inability to take our words at face value and understand that we literally meant precisely what we said, and only what we said. Yes, this is particularly frustrating. It's easy to concentrate on our own personal difficulties reading social cues, without remembering that our ow... |

I do terribly! although I'm not really gonna show it to avoid "drama", unless it becomes too usual or common. Then it annoys me even more and it gets harder to hide being upset I think. Now, depending on the culture, I think even NT's don't like people being late. But I guess it's even mor... |

Yeah I have sensory issues. The light at my laptop or my phone has to be the lowest otherwise my eyes get tired or hurt. It's so low people can't even see properly when they look at my laptop or phone ("it's so dark!" they say). Same with my music or the volume on the TV. I also can hear p... |

Hi, So I guess that for the question in the title, a specialist in autism would find it maybe easier to answer it. But I wanted to know if someone had a an opinion about it or if someone knew something about it. There's not much information about this online so yeah I thought about posting here. As ... |

I don't understand why they're so fake. Like for example, I feel like people are my friends because they smile to me and stuff but then they're not my friends because we don't talk outside college, we don't meet outside college... But then the day after they smile again at me. I mean that really co... |

Well I'm not diagnosed yet but personally I'm pretty bad at math. I was actually very good in primary school but I don't know, I just didn't like math anymore then and I really began to lag behind. I'm much better at learning foreign languages. |
