2 years ago, i said something in here that i now regret. Is there no way for me to edit it or delete it? It's causing me a lot of stress and anxiety, and i feel like i can only move on if i can erase it from existence somehow. I said some quite negative things about myself that weren't really correc...

I think most of the autism community agrees that the functioning labels are highly inaccurate. If you met me on a day where I’m well-rested and my mood is good you would think I’m high functioning, but see me during a meltdown or when I’m really tired and stressed and you would think the opposite. B...

I'm guessing it's serious because it affects every aspect of your life and can often lead to things like depression and other mental health issues. It profoundly impacts how you act and think about the world, so don't think it can ever be seen as a "minor" thing (unlike something like dysl...

Having a child with special needs is a lifetime commitment because your child will never be able to grow up and move out and take care of themselves. And as a parent how would you feel about yourself if you got too elderly to take care of them or you passed away and there was nobody else to take ca...

It’s pretty scary to think about. The general consensus online seems to be that Down’s syndrome is terrible and must be eradicated, and that’s it’s straight up immoral to not abort.

I wonder if the same thing would happen to autism if a test was made.

A lot of ignorant NT's use the terms interchangeably, how come?

And that isn't even the worst part, it's the reasons they cite. Like how autistic people are useless soul-draining burdens that will ruin the life of the parents. As a former autistic child, I sincerely hope I didn't cause my parents too much trouble and that they don't regret me. This is a pretty g...

The simpsons has characters that are actually well-written and doesn't rely on cut-off gags and "lol randum" humor

I do occasionally watch family guy when I'm stoned/drunk and don't want to use my brain too much. It's a guilty pleasure of mine

I was browsing Reddit the other day and came upon a comment that said "Mentally disabled people are useless and should be given a quick and painless death".

Wow

It was on /r/Debatefacism which is filled with people like this. I'm honestly surprised the admins haven't taken it down yet,

https://i.redd.it/57eb0g6l7oi11.jpg Sorry for the vent, but I saw this on reddit and got so angry that I had to share. This person acts like all autistic people are the same and that's it's the absolute worst thing that can happen to a parent. Have you forgotten the SPECTRUM part? Not every autisti...

I have read countless articles online about how difficult raising an autistic child is and how some of the parents wishes they have never been born. It kinda sucks to read all these Reddit threads about how they don't want to have children as there is a chance of them being "cursed" with a...

Previously I thought Global Developmental delay was used to refer to when a child was delayed in ALL areas of development, and that it was only seen in things like Down’s syndrome or LFA. However after doing some research, I found out that you only need to be delayed in a minimum of two out of five ...
