I remember Tony Attwood mentioning that many people with AS have (or HAD, as youths) larger-than-average heads. So, I am wondering if people with Aspergers Syndrome might have more well developed frontal lobes (of their brains) than NT's, resulting in a higher forehead, and bigger head. Many researc... |

I conducted a similar poll on blood types, but not enough people took it to make it statistically significant. However, there appeared to be a large number of people with A+ and A- blood types. I, myself, am O positive, the same as my father, from whom I might have gotten my AS. It does not appear t... |

Yes, I remember events and DREAMS that I had when I was 3 years old (back in 1951-2). I watched Howdy Doody and I Love Lucy on TV at the time, and I had dreams about these two shows all the time. I also remember trying to look behind the TV set to see how the people got in there! |

I took the test twice at my last job, and both times I was INTJ, very decidedly. Most of what I have read about the Myers-Briggs test suggests a strong correlation between persons with AS and the INTJ personality type. |

In my case, I would say "yes" to this question. I seem to have a stiffness in my muscles that tends to slow me down. I am slow in walking and in stooping. When I was a Boy Scout (many years ago), I could not earn my Lifesaving merit badge because I could not take my clothes off fast enough (before j... |

I have read that blood type A is often associated with severe autism, but that no particular blood type is associated with persons with Asperger's Syndrome. So, I thought it might be informative to take a poll of blood types among persons with Asperger's. My type is O-positive, which is the same as ... |

As the person who started this forum, I have two comments based on what I have read here. (1) the idea that a male cannot be gay and have Asperger's is nonsense. Maybe, someone with severe autism is not likely to be gay (IF the testosterone theory is correct), but AS is a very mild form of autism, a... |

I am employed, but most certainly "underemployed," as I have several college degrees, but have a lousy job at WalMart. The problem is that I lack "ambition" , as some people have told me, and chose the wrong field (music) to get degrees in. Basically, I am very impractical when it comes to money mat... |

I have seen several scientific articles linking the presence of short alleles of the 5-HTT serotonin transporter gene to anxiety disorders such as depression, paranoia, SAD, as well as to autism (and AS). I am wondering if anyone knows of any molecular biologists who are actually testing people for ... |

Maybe I am wrong here, but I think that the true test of whether or not someone has AS is in the exhibiting of physica l (not mental/emotional) traits. By this I mean such things as: stimming, difficulty in coordinating hands and feet (at times), general stiffness in body movements, tall stature (de... |

As the instigator of this topic, I wish to list the primary book that discusses the "finger-length" theory: Digit Ratio: A Pointer to Fertility, Behavior, and Health (A volume in the Rutgers Series in Human Evolution, edited by Robert Trivers.) (Paperback) by John T. Manning (Author) I am just as cu... |

I have read the theory about "finger-length" analysis that goes something like this: Heterosexual females: ring and index fingers are about same length. Gay females: ring finger is longer than index finger. Heterosexual males: ring finger is longer than index finger. Gay males: index finger is longe... |

As an older person with AS, this kind of racial profiling reminds me of what the Nazi's were thinking and doing, so you all need to think twice about somehow equating the "Nordics" with AS, and possibly with a "special" race of people. Since the current world of engineers, computer programmers, etc.... |
