Or perhaps the simulation is a historical recreation--events that already happened, that future beings are assessing for some purpose..like we do with weather simulations or past climatic events.

I'd heard about the cyclic universe, but hadn't considered wars. Also, this coronavirus Covid-19 is perhaps like a reboot.

auntblabby, I'm curious.
When were there reboots, in your opinion?
Like the Big Bang?
Or the mass extinctions (i.e. the Cretaceous Tertiary)?

Ai ai, auntblabby, it's so much to consider! If it is a simulation, I think it's gotten out of hand. We could all do a sit down strike until the programmers fix certain conditions. Thank you, Pepe. It's a way of distracting myself from all the drama happening these days. If it were a simulation, at ...

I read the article about the debate whether we live in a simulation, then I pursued more information about James Gates' theories.
I went down the rabbit hole.
Did you know that there are error-correcting codes in genetics?
How far down does it go?

Since the Newcomb-Benford law applies to so much more than tax returns, could it be a hint that this is all a simulation? I'm not great with math, so I wondered if anyone else has considered this or debunked it already? I tried an online search but didn't find any relevant responses on any of the fi...

I was touched by the storyline of the movie "Extinction." I don't want to spoil anything about it for anyone. All I want to say is that I think we could avoid a lot of trouble if we treated all conscious beings with kindness or respect (at least). As a kid I tried to have consideration for...

@SabbraCadabra
I admit it, I miss my GI Joe action figures. I had them up until I moved overseas. Flint was my favorite and his joints just weren't what they used to be. But I also wore out poor Airborne and Gung-Ho. I liked Lady Jaye and Scarlett, too.

@Magna Agreed--less noise would be pleasant.

@Fnord Just imagine where we would be now! And VR is kinda of like baby steps toward a holodeck.

@Joe90 Yep--what gives with cigarette companies doing "stop smoking" campaigns anyway?

[quote="lostonearth35" Well I thought free universal health care was the thing needed the most. How can you put a price on a human life and then just leave them to die if they can't afford it? I have never understood that. . :([/quote] Amen. I l had a friend in the US who was kicked out of...
