Hi, The past few years, I've been fighting against depression. This time is different. I think I have a combination of depression and burnout. I don't know which of my symptoms are caused by depression, which by burnout. Probably there is some overlap. After having tried escitalopram (cipralexa), mi... |

A question I have been asking myself.... Sometimes it is easy to work out but a lot of the time it is not. Regardless if I am on the spectrum or not, I have some traits. Now apart from the obvious, which in my case are the anxiety and the shutdowns.... With a few of the other traits..... If I find ... |

Your writing in English is amazingly good. I am glad you understand what I wrote about the shutdowns. When you wrote I realized that you were writing about the same thing that I was experiencing. For me, I experienced partial shutdowns and shutdowns now and then, but it wasn't until about 12 years ... |

In the US, it generally takes 3 tries and a lawyer to get benefits. But I see you are in Europe, so that may not apply. You need to find some way to reduce the stress enough to let your body heal. Lots of sleep. Learn how to calm your mind, be it yoga, meditation, listening to music, deep breathing... |

No that's understandable, I got upset when I was first denied Social Security benefits when I got a paper that said "You're disabled but not enough" Luckily I got a lawyer and she helped me get said benefits. Is there someone like that that could help you? Did you file a lawsuit, or did y... |

Oh no... I would so like to say something to help.... Stimming violently and drinking fizzy drinks or eating something chocolaty helped me a little. Stimming worked best but it was exhausting. The only real aay in which to help is a long term break from the stresses. I have had to give up working t... |

Are you able to get any sort of help or assistance? I visit a psychologist every two to three weeks. I started consultation 4 months ago. This is helpful but only to a certain degree (she has lots autistic patients, I think, because in the waiting room I have spotted people that are quite obvious a... |

One of the problems I have been facing all my life is body odors. After reading several threads on this site, I have come to the conclusion that this problem may be typical of many Aspies. Apparently I have a very offensive body odor. I don't smell it. But I am told by many NTs that it exists. Norm... |

I hear lots of people on the spectrum experience one form or another of GI issues. Back in 2006, my heartburn was so bad that I had to have surgery for it. Earlier this year, I began to experience some sensitivity to gluten. Do you have digestion/GI issues too? Yesterday, my husband showed me a vid... |

I can barely bear it when there is intense noise... it's like my mind slowly dissolves into panic, not too dissimilar to a toothache which needs to be stopped soon... and while for a blower which has a moderate amount of intense noise I usually try a plastic bottle, once I nearly lost it in respons... |

Is anyone in a similar situation, and how do you interact with extended family in this case? Or do you just stop interacting with them altogether? Yeah, interaction with family or strangers in generally... I don't bother anymore to appear NT. It usually goes like this: -spend loads of energy to giv... |

Hi everyone, I'm currently pausing my study at university by order of my psychiatrist. After crashing completely six months ago, diagnosed with burnout and depression, I have been treated with Escitalopram (aka lexapro), mirtazapine (remeron), zolpidem (ambien), trazodone... None of them had the des... |
