I've dealt with what I consider to be borderline bullying. I had a boss who would put pressure on me to do things that I considered a bit shady, like "messaging the data" or "fudging" a report to make the team look better. I just said "I'll get to work on that", and the...

I closed all of my social media accounts a many years ago (maybe 8 years now). My original motivation was actually social anxiety. I found that being on social media made me feel just as anxious as many of the social situations I most feared. Like going to a party and being in a room full of people....

It depends on what job you're doing. Not all work is in offices doing presentations or designing products. For example, I clean buses at a bus depot and teamwork is extremely important here. We have to share equipment, and when you share equipment you need to know how to share, otherwise you'll jus...

Don't try to make the individual a team player but do encourage and praize him or her for the work that they do... This. I think there are actually studies out there in the fields that study these kinds of things that show that in many situations people are less creative and productive when working...

Thanks for your reply. It really helps me feel better to know that there are other people out there who can relate. I am thankful that this site exists, and for the people on it. I think you are right that their lives haven't given them the background to understand my struggles. I imagine that the t...

I haven't been on this forum for over a year, and what prompted me to come back is that I am struggling with something and feel that maybe this is probably one of the few places where people might understand what I am going through. I kind of hate that this is my reason for coming back, and I hope t...

Overall when it comes to thinking and behaving in a rigid or obsessive manner a key thing to being able to change that is learning how to 'let go'. Typically or at least a lot of the time, I think a rigid way of thinking/being stems from insecurity and fear. If you are adhere to certain patterns, h...

To be able to have more rewarding conversations a certain amount of flexibility is required. So I think you're on the right path. I suppose you can feel reward from conversation while being "stuck in your thinking" because then a feeling of "winning" can be present. That makes i...

For me it fluctuates widely based on my mood. I can go from having a deeper, authoritarian sounding voice to having a soft and more child-like voice. Really, it would be convenient if I had better control over it.

On a related note, I often hear that my face looks 5-10 years younger then my age.

When I think about it though, I have gotten some valuable help from irrational sources. Not that I think it is ever helpful to believe false or irrational things. But a more than a few times a metaphor or a meaningful story has made a huge difference in how I see things, for the better. On the other...

When referring to your behavior, the tendency is to cite situational because you are familiar with your disposition When referring to others behavior, the tendency is to cite dispositional because admitting you don't know something , that could affect you, causes discomfort Okay, this makes a lot o...

Trying to keep ones ego out of it, telling your mind to shut it and just listen, as well as doing research on newly presented material are some things I've done. That's just with thinking in terms of discussing topics, there can be rigidity in things like mannerisms too...I'm not sure how well I do...
