Has anyone else experienced more than one kind of selective mutism. Great question! I asked a former Mathamatics professor in college whom agreed with the above posters but then he dropped this nugget of confusion: "some infinities are mathematically larger then others" . Every answer comes with more questions it seems haha

Have you tried active noise canceling headphones? They're fairly cheap these days and if you're not sensitive to the "pressure" some experience, its like being able to shut off the outside world.

I know exactly what you mean by getting "day dreamy" when overwhelmed by managing to many things at once. Technology can be a heck of a tool though, any time I'm doing something complicated I set a bunch of alarms and reminders to keep things in order. Isn't perfect but if it works it works!
