I totally agree with you, but sadly, it's actually hard to recognize when you're the one who refuses to open up or is it the other person.
In general, life is complicated :)

I'm similar to Luhluhluh - I am also NT, so I am sure when I say that even NTs can be social outcasts. I was always bullied because I was so shy, could never stand up for myself and because I wore glasses. And of course, that made me even more shy. People think that teenage years are the best ones of your life (interestingly, here people think college years are the best) mostly because then teenagers don't have lots of responsibilities (it's mostly just being a good student in school) and are still unaware of the "problems" of adulth...

Empathy is definitely different in autistic people. I’m not sure there is a common type or depth of empathy amongst autistics. My guess would be that this is because the empathy from each autistic develops from the individual. There IS influence from the social world, but I don’t think that has as ...

I am from Croatia and in the past few months I've become very interested into ASD (read: obsessed) because my 3 year old nephew may be autistic (we're just at the beginning of the evaluation process).
