My experience last summer: I paid to go private as the NHS waiting list was 2 years I had one single 4hr appt with one clinical psychologist with no family involvement. Diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome made on the day. T |

I was diagnosed with hyperacusis before AS. My NHS audiology dept fitted me with a sound generator which is designed to desensitize the brain with regard to perceiving noise as pain. Perhaps awareness of something like the lanyards that a lot of airports in the UK have introduced that discreetly let staff know the wearer is autistic? I do this all the time whenever I am considering buying anything. Recently it was buying a new toothbrush - I was tracking minute price changes on Amazon, and watching about 10 on Ebay. Eventually after about 2 weeks of this I did actually then bid for and win one on ebay, so the obsession has final... |

I don't get sick as such, but suffer from a cumulative effect of motion. Eg if on holiday an on a succession of boats, trains, etc. Also from hotel lifts. It then affects me when lying down... I constantly then feel like I am moving. Apparently it's called "mal de debarquement" or something. |

I understand them, and actually use them a lot. I can be very sarcastic sometimes. I also tend to use puns a lot. Now, can I tell if someone is joking around with me or teasing me? No. My boss did this to me often and I never knew how to respond. yeah that sounds like me. I do struggle with things ... |
