Without a doubt section of the song Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (specifically section 6, degree 5 "Solitary Shell"), by Dream Theater: He seemed no different from the rest Just a healthy normal boy His mama always did her best And he was daddy's pride and joy He learned to walk and tal...

I've always walked on the balls of my feet and had a bouncy gait, until recently where I've tried to consciously think about my walking. I also lean forwards when I walk and tend to walk quite quickly; I'm walking somewhere for a reason so time to get there....no strolling around for me! Incidentall...

A combination of both. Ive always been "a certain way" that was never in doubt, but a house move (and the associated financial butden) was the tipping point that caused everything to come to a head. It's interesting, as I'm aging I care less about masking so you would think things would ge...

I was in a very similar situation to you, in terms of age, masking, seemingly "ok" on the outside - but things had been getting worse for quite a few years. I saw my GP in October and got a diagnosis in December - the entire process only took 2 months from start to finish. There is a postc...

Lists, lists and more lists. If I have to get things from multiple shops then I make a mark next to each item in a little code so I know which shops I'm getting which items from. There is usually a logical route to the shopping, if its food for example I must get cold/refrigerated stuff and freezer ...

Thanks, Antrax. I think you definitely qualify based on the fact you made it into the gifted program. I don't actually know my IQ - my parents didn't think that piece of data was worth recording or remembering, but they thought it was around 150, and I did get into the gifted program, so it was at ...

Around 7.

Got worse at around 14/15 I'd say, during high school and puberty. Although there was a lot less awareness of, and focus around autism back then.

I've noticed parts of my autism getting a lot worse over the last 5 or 6 years, specifically my overthinking, analyzing things that have happened (events, conversations, things I've done), health anxiety and general worrying. I do have dependents and recently increased (by choice, long story) some f...

I was diagnosed at the end of last year. My process was quick from start to finish (compared to lots of areas), but very thorough. To be considered for referral in my area you have to show that you had not previously been through a diagnosis process, the condition had been present from childhood and...

Congratulations both of you. Its really weird when you first find out. I was expecting my assessment to go on for longer than it did so when my psychotherapist said "you're autistic" I was like....""what?". Then she said; "100% autistic, absolutely no doubt in my mind&q...

Same here. Usually ISTJ but the swing is so close on the S/N, whereas the others are massively strong in the direction of the ITJ they couldn't be anything else.

I don't really like being wet, but I'd rather be wet than carry an umbrella, it's annoying and I really don't like to have to carry stuff. I'd rather just wear a coat. Isn't that what hoods are for anyway?

But they're not like that any more. Same genre, different games. Games where the graphics were s**t, so all you had was story and/or gameplay. Of all the 100's of games I've played over the years I find it hard to beat the basic gameplay and control of the original Super Mario Kart, a game where the...

I remember buying the walkthrough book for the 90's Role Play/point and click adventure game The Dig (mainly because it made little sense and I got majorly stuck, and my head was getting sore from banging it against the monitor). It was beautiful. The artwork and "extras" included, the det...

Most certainly. My IQ is 140, which technically puts me in the highly gifted category and top 99.5%, however my emotional intelligence is appalling. My Empathy Quotent is an abismal 4 from 80. Unfortunately, despite a high IQ I've not excelled, I mean, I'm very good at my job but it's in a technical...
