Thanks for your response. I’ve looked into this after reading your message and to be honest it doesn’t describe him. He’s aware of feelings and stuff, he just seems to not be so expressive with them towards me. This is mainly via text btw as I’ve said that’s our main form of communication which suck... |

I love my partner to bits (he’s also an Aspie) but I have to say I’m finding it hard that he seems to have issues communicating and expressing himself to me. It’s somewhat of a LDR but we can see each other often, however when we’re apart our main form of communication is text, which as of late seem... |

so frustrating though From a life-long insomniac. You can't force yourself to sleep, and (especially if it leads to frustration) the harder you try, the less likely it is that you will sleep. So, you need to find a way to take that pressure off yourself; not to see it as some kind of failure, howev... |

It might help if the OP & his partner just lay in bed & cuddle a lot when they're not trying to sleep. If the problems sleeping really are due to anxiety, it may also help to take an anxiety med before bed like a benzodiazepine just for a short term. They can help with anxiety & sleep. ... |

I can't help you there. I'm the opposite. I don't like to be touched by others in daily life (e.g. getting bumped or brushed up against, having someone tap me, put their hand on me, hand shakes, etc) but I have always liked having someone to sleep next to. It feels good. I'm like that also, but I w... |

This seems to be a reoccurring thing were I’m unable to fall asleep next to someone. I can literally be awake all night trying to sleep. I think it’s my anxiety levels but I don’t know how to manage it. Anyone else out there had the same thing, and how did you deal with it besides letting time do it... |

It would seem like it's passed on, as more than myself in my family seem to have many of the traits, but only me and my brother have the diagnosis so far. |

How do you deal with that? I find my automatic response is to take things personally, and its starting to annoy me. In between an event and your reaction, there's always a short gap of time, maybe a second or ten seconds. In that time, when you feel your gorge starting to rise, you can apply a &quo... |
