It's never seemed to me to be higher than any other country. Does it have to do with increased acceptance? NO. Australians hate anyone who is a little bit different. Australia has rather good resources for getting a diagnosis relatively easily compared to some countries and free. We also have rathe... |

Also if I was into drinking then I would be invited out with my colleagues. There's 5 of us all around the same age, but they are all into going out and drinking at weekends, and they do it together without inviting me, even though I get on with them well at work. I would love to go out with them a... |

It's definitely super important to be as close to your normal self as you can, misrepresentation defeats the purpose of seeing a therapist. When I last went to one of these I spent time thinking about anything I thought made me different to 'normal'. Noting some traits/differences/eccentricities/ETC... |

I'm not trying to fit into the NT status quo, I'm trying to get some friendship, companionship, just the options to do something . I need it, not for what anyone else might think of me, but for me. As it is, I spend every day at home and at work, nothing else. That is my life for years now, my life ... |

Vaccines are the kind of topic that's easy: they're scientifically proven and they benefit everyone. Anti-vacciners cannot be accepted because their refusal to accept the set-in-stone facts negatively impacts everyone else. Abortion is a lot harder, because it's a moral issue that offers negative/po... |

Goddamned "count to 100" posts and their kin. Better to just add a button people can press that awards them their worthless e-points. Also, the people that have to attest to how much they despise social media like evil ol' facebook . For maximum irony they post their anti-social media post... |

Why does it become extremely difficult? Regards to taking a drug, why would you want to become reliant and hand cuffed for the rest of your life? Drugs are a band aid, they don't work. This is where dependency and addiction starts and i went down that road for nearly 30yrs. Because the intent is to u... |

What was your old username? I like to know who I'm talking to. Telling would rather defeat the purpose, would it not? Regardless, I stopped posting before your account was created, unless you too restarted. Sertraline hasn't really helped me with shyness, just slightly taken the edge off of anxiety... |

So, essentially, this is a bit of a call-out to anyone who has attempted to handle their shyness/social anxiety/etc. What methods did you try and are there any you'd recommend? Has anyone had medication they've taken that helped with their shyness at all? I've only really had alcohol, which loosens ... |

I view more hours as a short-term sacrifice worth struggling through for the long-term. An example of how I see it is you can work 15hr/weeks for 3 years, or 45hr/weeks for 1year and have 2 years off. Both of these options have the theoretical same income, so I'd personally rather a terrible year fo... |

A lot of people get hung up on always being employed in their dream field. A typical rule of thumb is the longer you're out of a job the harder it is to get another. Also, that getting a new job, whilst employed, is far easier than getting a job whilst unemployed. A temporary job has good potential ... |
