Hi people, Sorry if this is long, but I want your opinions and I need to explain so you get the picture. I'm angry about this but I also recognise I'm sensitive and might be taking it out of proportion. I'm trying to work if it's me or if Mum's just getting it all wrong. My friend Jenny is a disable...

Hi @leafygenes, it's a tad tricky to follow your post. I think all the 'theys' are referring to your child. @timf responded as if 'they' is also referring to the staff. As you initially use the pronouns 'they' for your child, I'm going to reply as if all your 'theys' refer to your child. As it's new...

Hi Everyone, our 13yo (autism, ADHD) is very troubled by anxiety. In the past they have reluctantly taken medication. I've suggested we look at something more natural, like St John's Wort, GABA, or valerian root, or even chamomile tea? Have you had any success with reducing anxiety in your child saf...

I would like to add into my Profile, that I am so happy to have had a new 13yo Young Person come into my life. I'm in the position of being their pseudo Dad, and they have accepted me into their life. They have autism with ADHD and some sensory processing challenges, as well as recently coming out a...

I believe I'm in the right place here, I would like to make a feedback comment about the site. These emoticon things, the yellow faces and such, that people can add in to their text to add emotion, I have a bit of a difficulty with them. Some of them 'flash'. i.e. there is a face with blinking eyes,...

He sounds like a normal rude NT, with little understanding of communication skills, just good at talking about themselves and hopeless at listening.

I might have said this differently on another day, but today I've been suffering from a normal rude NT, and I've just about had it with them all :D

Welcome Nafun, I can relate to a lot of what you write. I too have spent a large part of my life feeling terrified, or feeling like a wreck. I've always felt like I come from another planet, and here is already starting to feel more like home :D In my local support group, some were happy they had th...

Wow, I've taken a bit of a stroll around this forum and dipped my toes in to test the water, and wow, what an enormous forum.

Like, it just goes on forever. I won't be able to engage everywhere but it's going to be a 'therapeutic community' for me. 8) 8O :D

Hi, I was diagnosed in 2018 as having traits of Asperger's and traits of Personality Disorder. I think this is the same as being sub-clinical. On the Profile page, under Diagnosis, there are only the options to indicate full or not at all, in my case: - Have Asperger's - Diagnosed, or - Neurotypical...

Hi Everyone, I just recently joined, and am sure it was marked as a required field, as was Date of Birth. Interestingly, I was able to change (remove) my DoB from my profile page after I joined, but not the Gender option. Curious. I agree I'd prefer not to have to see the poster's gender, on every s...
