To the previous kiwi. That's great you've had such a positive experience. All I can say is you are lucky you don't live in Cristchurch, because the CDHB proved to be a very negative experience for us. As it was for a number of families I met through the Autism NZ Help course. |

Somebody posted earlier asking for New Zealand based Clinicians. NZ is way behind the rest of the world in understanding ASD. We went through the public health system and were left high and dry. So a few people including our OT told us about Dr Ruth Baker who is a Woman with Aspergers herself. She r... |

My son has been undergoing assessment with a suspicion of Aspergers, we hyped ourselves up for this diagnosis, which never came. He was ... |

Hi I,m new to this and getting desperate for some guidance/advice. Child mental health services here in NZ are inadequate and underfunded. There is little choice in who you can see privately. Our 6yr old boy was invited to be assessed after being present for 5 mins in a family asstmt for our older d... |

I am a mother of a 6yr old boy who was initially thought to have Aspergers. Now the so called experts arent so sure. The child mental health services here in NZ are inadequate and underfunded. So much for Gods zone. So we are struggling just to get an answer. When the subject of Aspergers first came... |
