My son too chews excessively which helps regulate him. He used to take his chewy toy to school and have it in his pocket. He no longer takes it to school, as he is very sensitive to what the other kids think. One suggestion though is can you get her a chewy toy that is attached to a piece of string ...

To the previous kiwi. That's great you've had such a positive experience. All I can say is you are lucky you don't live in Cristchurch, because the CDHB proved to be a very negative experience for us. As it was for a number of families I met through the Autism NZ Help course.

Thanks both of you and Marie was this your first time also. Never mind about the photo could have been worse. I managed to get a bit further with things. Found an Occupational Therapist to do a sensory/motor etc assmt on James in a few weeks and she actually communicates with parents as she does it....
