I hadn't been thinking of you, Aconeperson, just asking the list generally if they felt qualms about tricking people into doing what seems best for them instead of letting them make their own mistakes. In your gas station example, I think that tricks did happen. Driving around looking at posted pri... |

It seems that all ideas have to be "sold" to NTs through emotional manipulation. Thanks to this thread, I recall that for several decades, all my beliefs were tentative, waiting for any new evidence. I also have a strong expectation that simply being willing and ready to offer a mathemati... |

I have "girly" hair but don't shave my legs or armpits. I play with makeup rarely for the artistic aspect of it, and also a bit of fascination with the stuff and what people can do with it. I prefer pants over dresses or skirts. I would rather play a game of basketball than go shopping. Ho... |

You're Somebody Else by Flora Cash. It reminds me of past instances where I read people wrongly, but then eventually understood that they were taking advantage of me and why. (I also like the music video, as it's a symbolic animation about peeling back the layers of an identity.) When I'm in a refl... |

Almost never, I'm totes creeped out by the infantalization of adult women. Modifications to make women look more like prepubescent girls is so strange and gross to me. I feel similarly. Also, I think it's unfair that I can stand next to a very hairy male friend when out swimming, but if I have unsh... |

(I'm not pleased with the show after how it ended, but I do still enjoy its music. I often like soundtracks.) |

I do both writing and speaking decently. However, each method has its own set of stresses for me. With speaking, I can seem normal or even charming for short periods. I can get people to laugh easily, too. However, this is incredibly draining for me. Depending on what's going on in a day, how short ... |

I watched a video recently which helped explain this point to me. The speaker was comparing argument styles. Basically, he said that autistic people focus on "WHAT" is right, but that neurotypical people focus on "WHO" is right. I feel like paraphrasing it further would be sloppy... |

So how come people tell me that I look angry when I’m just sitting around and then tell me to smile? Doesn’t that mean that I should sit there smiling? What should I do with my face while sitting and walking? It sounds like you probably have another issue that I did/do: an angry-looking resting fac... |

Smiles are generally best when they're brief. One or two seconds is enough. You can smile often in a row, but generally a smile must be re-prompted by the events/words/people around you. When to smile has many variations, and that also varies a lot by culture. I'm in the US. I'm going to assume that... |

@Mountain Goat: Only trains of thought! Also thanks for the welcome. @Darmok: Thank you! I was disappointed when my post wouldn't allow links. It's nice to see it here. Their call is great too, as is their nickname. Their call is on the Wiki page, but the nickname isn't. So fun fact time! Its ... |

Hello, is my simple greeting, that I'm giving, upon meeting. On this planet, I am living, feeling unsure of the motions. Always, I feel like I am sieving, through the humans' silly notions. Wandered here, after a detour, hope my greeting is alright. My goal was only not to bore: to try to keep it li... |
