Let's hope that Alex's video will be the beginning of greater things to come. I hope the next movie will follow up on this, and really show real solutions for K St and Congress to really make policies in our favor. :) Like perhaps, as I thought after watching the video, more support for homeschooli...

I loved the video. When I showed it to my wife I burst out in uncontrollable tears. I find the bit with Alex in the car explaining how people don't understand how taxing it is for him to interact socially echoes what I've been trying to say my whole life to deaf ears. oh I hear ya; here's something...

Awww Alex, your dad is autistic! I started to wonder when i saw the position of his fingers when he first came up, then i saw the posture of his right arm and i noticed his silence and then i was sure. Damn I still got it, i still can diagnose with little info :) My theory that our type of autism i...

labelling me as disfunctional or handicapped because I deal with ASD/ADHD is relative, relative to another persons objectivity of me being unacceptable to their standards... You need to go back in time to ancient Greece and live with the Spartans... They would of threw you over the city walls as a ...

If your an aspie and you don’t think aspies should reproduce, then don’t reproduce. Don’t expect every aspie to feel the same as you. And I don’t like the idea that aspies are somehow destroying the human race. Couldn't have said it better. If you don't wish to bring children into the world because...

[/quote]3. I don't think my AS is something that would prevent me from raising a child. My bigger issue, frankly, are the many emotional scars that may impede my being a loving parent or even worse, compel me to ruin my child's life in an effort to save them from all the mistakes and tragedies I suf...

I know that I don't actually think outside emotion, but really to spite emotion when I believe that I am out of its grasp. Just a warning that I believe that aspies especially need to heed. I am still trying to decipher the difference between physical symptoms and emotions. Last time I fell in love...

Very good post and very true things you said. I am one of of the spoiled ones, as a nurse, I can get a job easy, which is not very flattering...but anyway. Everything you said is true. I just quit my job again. Again, NT nonsense "scared" me away (disgusted me away, I should say...lol...). The same ...

I've gotten a certain amount of success by always being pleasant and polite, and always maintaining a cheerful facade (even if I have to fake it). Where I work now, I have a rep for being the quiet type, but also for being the type of person who can always be asked to help out when it's needed. I'm...

I have read thousands of posts on WP... Many of the very gifted people here have said that they could not finish their education and they are doing hard jobs, like cashiers etc. but they still think about their dreams. I want to encourage everyone here not to let our "disability" (no matter how muc...

Kate Shroud would be the female in this relationship, not to be confused with ZDar Shroud. I didn't just start up a new account for my own amusement. Look up the profiles. Anyway, I used the word "scheduled" when speaking of marriage because it's a sure thing. If I schedule something it's set in st...
