Canada has 1/10th the population of the US....and the virus hasn’t made as much inroads. Obviously, they will have less cases than the US—by far. Fish's contention seems to be that America has more cases because it is inhabited by a lower form of human beings than Canada. Canadians still live in pa...

California has the largest population in America (twice that of New York) but it is considerably way behind New York in number of developing cases. And that is not because California has tighter measures in place than New York. Texas which has the second highest population in the US and is by far t...

I'm not thinking that C19 is the same as the flu. But as far as numbers go, it has barely scratched the surface worldwide as far as the number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths caused by the flu in just the US. So I personally am far from being alarmed by what I am seeing as far as the raw data...

We’re not going to get to 200,000 deaths nationwide... I suspect it will be about 20 times that much. I hope I'm not one of them, though; I have good money riding on it. I'll take that wager. I'll take the under for $100. Shake hands? Sorry. No on-line betting. The only  suckers  people I gamble wi...

If I were forced to place a nominal value of "how much more serious" it is I'm going to go with 12.6 times more serious.

I have trouble understanding the current strategy. In light of the fact that at some point we will need herd immunity from this virus, why are young healthy people in lockdown? Surely it would benefit the vulnerable few and make it safer to go outside sooner if the low risk group do mix? Your posit...

I don't think my way is healthy or even helpful. But it's just what I have going on... Yes it seems we are in the same boat. The difference is maybe I always wanted to fit in and thought something is wrong with me, too inflexible, other people don't seem to have this tendency to dump others this fr...

All my life I easily broke up with friends. I had very strict morals and etiques, so if someone didn't fit in, we had to part our ways (example: I disguise when someone cheats on his/her spouse, so a friend confessed it to me I broke up with them). In my 30es I read lots of psychological books and ...

I try to get on every jury I can but am always dismissed.
My goal with jury duty is to create a not-guilty verdict for anyone who was convicted of a victimless crime.
drug possession, drug dealing, DUI with nobody harmed... Not guilty in my eyes. It's my way to uphold the constitution.

I don't get close to anyone who believes in supernatural beings. When I'm close with someone, they are more important to me than anything. They will always rank a supernatural being above me creating an imbalance in priorities and making an equal relationship impossible.

I have the same experience in therapy with learning that much of how I view the world is like many others on the spectrum. I don't get the same feeling from this site so I just come here once in a while (once/month) and see if anything's changed much, it hasn't, and then move on. My surprises with t...

Yes, rich people and business does have an obligation morally to fund the public. It's called taxation, which is a burden for the common good that we have collectively chosen, either by direct vote or through our representatives.
