Can you ask his kinder teachers to set up some sort of fire engine play theme, this may get other kids motivated into playing something your son can engage in.
They could do other things to like red paintings, red play dough etc etc.
Get the staff to help you this is their job to. |

Hi all, we live in Australia so things may be a little different here. I took my son to his job net work agency yesterday. He wont go unless I go with him, because he doesn't know or trust this worker, he wont talk to her or barely look at her, he gets confused by what others say and his short term ... |

Hi mine does a revolting throat clearing noise. He also has a cough he does, just a quick hu hum. He doesn't even know he is doing it, if we draw attention to it it makes it worse. I've heard some have tried re-directing with offering water every time they cough, it didn't work for my son tho... |

All really good advice. This is where we are at now (thanks to some great advice by one of the posters) I've had a talk with C without J around, I've done this many times now but something seamed to click this time. Hmm I think it was the threat " C if you try to force your brother, or practice taek... |

Not sure if this is a request for advise or just a post to get it off my chest. I have two aspies, C aged 21 and J aged 12. Both have their own special interests, both can be fantastic with each other and really look out for the others needs most of the time. However, J is extremely verbal and is ve... |

I would say that this is part of YOUR AS. My 21 year old is the same, only he can only remember about 1 instruction at a time and even then he needs to have an interest in it.
If it's getting worse, are you under extra stress at the moment? |

I took J to the supermarket yesterday, we needed something for dinner and I thought I'd buy a few extra meals. J and I were walking down one aisle and I was looking at a packet mix for some sort of ethnic beef stew. J turns to me and says" mum why are you looking at that? you know C will have a tant... |

Sorry just realized, I didn't really address your poll. I haven't submitted a score because there isn't really one that fits. I very rarely punish my child or take things off him. I will tell him when i don't like something he is doing or has done, but I have to weigh up, is this my problem or is th... |

Hmmm, the first thing I thought was uh oh, he's questioned their process and intelligence in their testing process, this guys sounds like a smart ar$e who thinks he knows more than us. A lot of NT's don't like it pointed out to them just how illogical they can be. Those questions were stupid and the... |

J and I have since had a talk regarding how he feels. I think looking back at the whole situation, it blew up and was made much worse because I didn't know at the time, but he'd had a really bad day at school with a maths test that he just couldn't do, and he was starting swim lessons that night wit... |

Up date: I printed off the dyscalculia info sheets and gave them to the school vp he says he will hand them on to the school psychologist (I'm not holding my breath) I then spoke with J's classroom teacher, she appeared very concerned with the comments that were made. Apparently it wasn't a teacher ... |
