Socializing is the greatest weakness in ASDs, and it's a weakness that doesn't improve. Disagree in full with the sentiment that it's a weakness that doesn't improve. You can learn social cues and how to not be awkward. Aspergers is not debilitating. We have no physical limitations preventing us fr...

In that regard, I find nothing morally wrong with trying to get someone to be more social. Only if they want to. It's morally wrong if they don't. Some people don't like socializing (it's actually a criterion of autism). What someone wants to do and what someone needs to do can very frequently be i...

I think that, as a 23 year old man who was diagnosed with AS at 15, my biggest regret is not trying to be more social. I sit around in my parents home playing video games all day, then sleeping, then waking the next day to play more video games, and not advancing my life. And to be fair, while I'm n...

To be fair, I dislike banning words. It's like burning books and ending the second amendment. Sure, there are remarkably few ways to use 'ret*d' in a non-offensive fashion, but it's not the word itself that you hate, it's the meaning associated with it. The word "ret*d" originates from the latin wor...

Hah, I want a chick who's interested in smothering me.

If the problem is that the chick is being too emotionally insecure over you, that's a bad thing which you should confront her over. If it's that she's just a physical person, appreciate your blessings.

It's actually easier to be spontaneous when you're unaware of the area. Just walk through some place and say, "Hey, let's see what's in there," or the like. There's no need to hold back in any way, just be curious and explore the area. That will be fun for both of you.

That Hasslehoff video is awesome! Seriously though, playing music from the 80's may be old-fashioned, but it's hardly awkward. A good video prank should trick people into seeing something that may scar them for life, not something that has a 50/50 chance of making them dance in their chair. Inciden...

It's because the majority of the games involve Link being alone in a dungeon for so long. I mean, movies are generally about the interactions and emotions and relationships of characters. If you really analyze the Zelda games, there is only one character. Sure, you could make a movie where link solv...

The point of it being a prank is that it's so painfully awkward to the modern music fan. I mean, for some of you guys, it's clear that it's your taste in music, but for the broad spectrum of society, it kind of feels old fashioned and mildly obsolete in a way.

You're a hero, yes, but one thought crosses my mind: How old are you? I mean, if you're some average 20-something beating on kids, well, that's weird. But you should have taken a more defensive approach--Prevent them from attacking the kids--aka, bodyblocking, etc--and start arguing in the kid's def...

Different for every friend. Most of them started out as enemies, but learned to tolerate me. My first real best friend actually also had asperger's, however, he was quite different from me. Originally, I actually teased him--and when later, my mom wanted me to go to a friend's house to get out of th...

Passive, apathetic, 'The most frustrating student ever'. <<Quote from my sixth grade teacher. It's because I always give my teachers some sort of hint that I have a lot of potential, but I never actually work to achieve it. I just sit around and draw.

Sure. But only one. Any more and it's chaotic. If the kid whines about wanting a brother/sister, tell them it's for their own good.

The original movement would certainly have annoyed me, but I cannot argue that it was not correct. Women deserved the rights they earned. Neofeminists are b*****s though. They have all the rights they need. They're just being whiny b*****s because they expect that all men are evil and have procured ...

It's because once you get married, theoretically, you're stuck to just one person for the rest of your life. While this appeals to me, lots of men are a bit more chaotic in this sense. They want to be able to do it with more than just one woman.
