I did some digging into the lineage of composers leading up to Bach and found some very good keyboard music in certain early baroque composers. Specifically, Bach was quite influenced by the "stylus fantasticus", a improvisational and virtuostic style that almost has resemblance to jazz in... |

I have been listening to vaporwave for years and I still can't get enough of it. Here's some of my favorite vaporwave works: https://youtube.com/watch?v=pa4hOFVGHIA This one is very dreamy and hypnagogic. Sample driven ambience with wonky transitions. https://youtube.com/watch?v=3r2zleGxv7w Very smo... |

An interesting thing to note is that repetition wasn't always the prevailing aspect of popular music. In the baroque era it was all about spontaneous ornamentation and in renaissance it was more about singing with polyphony with less emphasis on instrumentals at all. In the classical period they see... |

Can't argue with that one. |

I was thinking about the type of music that tends to be popular. What is the common element that is in most popular genres in the 21st century. Repetition. From the rhythmic snares of trap to the repeated synth lines and choruses of pop, repetition seems to be king in popular music. This inclination... |

I like the forum thread format because it's nice to get my ideas out there in a solid form, but is there any live chat on here? It can be difficult to get to know anyone when I just post threads occasionally so just wondering. |

I think a better question is why is any kind of internet media that doesn't moderate much toxic. People take advantage of the anonymity to let of steam in a manner they can't out in the open. Gaming is a younger demographic and also composed of a lot of people that have gotten acclimated to this kin... |

I think part of the reason pride historically has been a maligned trait is that pride in oneself can often result in people questioning the established power *cough* catholic church *cough* because they believe they have ideas better than the authority. So they just dissed the trait entirely to dis... |

I think biblical pride is more in line with narcissism than it is a healthy self esteem. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/eze/28/1/s_830001 I think even narcissism can be healthy, but when... |

I'm not sure all those elites you mention are pushing intersectionalism, they're just merely worried about offending customers who acknowledge it. I also fail to see how being more aware of oppression somehow reverses it. I believe you've fallen for a lot of BS spouted by people hostile to these id... |

The reason I believe it is regressive is that the whole ideology is largely pushed by journalists, corporations, politicians, and entertainment industry juggernauts. All of these people are interconnected and there is significant mingling between them. They're basically an elite class that all mutu... |

The general consensus is that the deadliest sin is pride, but I disagree. This isn't really from a religious perspective despite my use of the word sin; pride seems to be generally maligned across the board in culture. I can see why, as it's associated with many negative behaviors but I'd argue it's... |

I’ve never allowed any group or majority a say into what I feel pulled to do or achieve in life. We, on the spectrum, need to forge ahead without care of what others think, if we are to achieve or make any difference in this life. I learned this at the age of 16yrs. I only excelled because of oppre... |
