I read that 59% of Tourette's people are Aspies that developed TS sometime in childhood/adolescence. So it's very, very possible for the two disorders to be comorbid. I've even come to a point where I think I know the difference between what for me are tics and what are stims, both of which I have s... |

When I was a little girl, my favorite toys were my stuffed animals and My Little Ponies. It's not surprising that as an adult I still have at least a 1/4 of my massive stuffie collection. There's at least one animal, a chimp named Monka, that would be on one of those lists where your house is burnin... |

This is a very interesting thread for me, because I'm facing that big question whether my Tourette's diagnosis was inaccurate and I'm just stimming or if I'm comorbid Tourettes/Aspergers. Things that I do: Tapping foot, tapping fingers, beating out rhythms on my legs or on a table Biting my lips and... |

I can idenitfy with not liking parties. I avoid them like the plague! Which people find very odd for a 25 year old, right up there with the fact that I absolutely will not touch alcohol. But oh well, I'd rather be odd then a sheeple. ;) As for sleeping in silence, I've been able to adapt to sleep wi... |

I wouldn't say I'm horrible at math, considering I'm the one who handles the bills and check book in our household. I also have no problem taking care of billing and invoicing my business, or pricing things to sell. However, I can't do algebra or anything like that. It just gets too confusing to me.... |

Medication is a double edged sword, IMO. Since the age of six and my (possibly defunct) ADD diagnosis I've been on medication. In the course of ten years I had been put on about fifty to sixty different prescriptions. I've been taken to the emergency room for EKGs at the age of eight, and I've gone ... |

I've always been able to relate better to animals then people, and I don't think there's been more then a six month period in my life when I didn't have a dog. Recently I got a "baby" dog, a Minature Pinscher named Marty. I got him basically for my own therapy and because having something to turn my... |

In Tourette's material they call them rage attacks, though I hate that term because I'm not a violent person. During a meltdown I've taken some swipes at people, but I've never beaten anyone up or anything. I had a meltdown tonight, though it was a mild one. Things were getting way too stressful, I ... |

If I had a dime for every time my mother has come into my room and announced I'm going to ruin my eyes reading in such a dark room I'd be rich! I'm not really a fan of alot of light either. I don't mind florescents if used in moderation. I have a lamp with five bulbs in it and I usually keep it on t... |

I feel about 13 to 15 most of the time, and I'm 25. The only time I feel old is when I start comparing myself to NT's and it seems like I've been around so long but haven't done anything. Which is why I stopped comparing myself to NT's. I enjoy reading children's lit, watching cartoons, coloring, pl... |

Both. Working in the NT world has been diasterous, I've messed up every romantic relationship I've been in, I've destoryed many a friendship, I had to taken out of school for my own safety, I'm not comfortable in group actitives and, to top it all off, my parents are the only people I've been able t... |

I'd heard of it before in a vague sense before, but I don't think I ever really understood what it is was until I saw the character of Jerry "Hands" Espensen on Boston Legal. Earlier this year I was playing him in an RPG (yes, I'm a geek.) and I looked up Aspergers on wiki to get a basic idea of wha... |

It certinaly sounds like you're on the spectrum, but I'm also not DX'd yet either. Just starting that process, but the more I read, the more I feel confident that it's the final piece of the puzzle that makes me tick. And not a minute too soon! And don't feel bad about being 19 and not driving. I go... |

Usually when my mother calls me selfish it's because I won't drop whatever I'm doing at the moment (especially if I'm onto something intently) and do what she wants me to do. She's a very impatient person who demands everything in the house to be done on her time table. I have no problem doing what ... |

Well, for me disclousing my Tourette's I've always believed in being honest when asked about why I am....me. (Even though Tourette's doesn't explain half of it, which is how I ended up here!) I don't want to ever seem embarrased of it, because then people WILL believe it's something so horrible I sh... |
