As I talked about in another thread, I was just officially diagnosed after a lifetime of being diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression. I had a friend with Asperger's who once suggested I should get tested but I thought surely my doctors would have caught something like that. It took another bu...

Finally got the help I was seeking and an official diagnosis. I feel like a weight has been lifted off me. It's like I found a missing part of me if that makes sense. I wish I had known when I was younger, maybe my life might have been a little different. Oh well, I know now. Thank all of you for yo...

It's been a very long past few weeks. But I've gotten many steps closer to a diagnosis. Of course Covid-19 has presenting some problems with the appointments I need. All my doctors are doing their appointments over the phone. In some ways that's easier but in other ways problematic. I hope everyone ...

I drink about 2 beers a day, at least when I can afford it. I HATE the taste beer. And yes, I know caps mean yelling, that's how much I hate it. I prefer the taste of wine and that's the only alcoholic taste I like, but I don't drink for taste, I drink to unwind from constant pretending to be like e...

Thank you for your replies, it's really helped me make the decision to take my primary care doctor's offer to try and get me a referral instead of relying on my therapist. After reading everyone's comments and doing some more research on my own, I find it amazing how many neurotypical people have su...

Actually I do. School was very hard for me and the teachers and past therapists I had as a child were constantly diagnosing me with many different things from ADD, Anxiety Disorder, Non-verbal Learning Disorder, ect. And my mother has always kept everything from brother's and my childhood, including...

I'm so exhausted. Mentally, physically, and emotionally. My Primary care physician really seems to think I could be on the spectrum, says she has other patients on the spectrum that have displayed similar traits. But finally saw my therapist even though my appointment was in January, she has to resc...

So I just saw my therapist and she agrees it sounds like I could have ASD and am being referred to a psychiatrist. I also had to see my family doctor because my heart rate has been very high and after a few tests he says he believes it's anxiety and put me on propranolol. All of this is so exhaustin...

I think Jayne Eyre for sure. Maybe Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. Shakespeare's Ophelia maybe but that character could suffer from many disorders. Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. Daria, maybe Velma from Scooby Doo. Perhaps Christine Dae from Phantom of the Opera. I was just thinking about ...

My opinion.. too expensive to really bother with.

The only anime's I watched and liked were Case Closed and Death note. And that was more because of the investigative genre it was in. Mostly I think it's a little too ridiculous and/or melodramatic, like soap operas on crack witch cute anthro animals. Please understand that this is just my opinion a...

Finally was able to get see someone. It was actually my mother's therapist since mine is so booked. She's sure my mother doesn't have ASD but she she seems to really believe I fit the bill for Asperger's and seem to be experiencing something called an autism burnout. (Can anyone tells me what fit th...

not sure if you mean at the movies or just any good movies in general. But Joker was pretty good. I just watched Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal for the 500th time. But not Hanninal Rising. Honestly it felt kind of forced trying to keep people interested.
