Has anyone here been treated for SPD (aka Sensory Integration Disorder)? What type of treatment did you have and did it work? Everything is super bright, complex and detailed, loud, smelly, and painful (touch/feeling, especially low frequency vibrations) to me compared to a normal person. Basically ...

Unlike most doctors where almost everyone has to see one at some point, much less people see psychiatrists. I don't know anyone that has seen one and can offer a recommendation. How do I find a good one? I don't have insurance (well, I do but with a ridiculously high deductible) and no income so it'...

I liked the idea for the story but I didn't like a lot of the actors in this series. I eventually accepted Bakula as the captain even though I don't think he was the best choice for that role. Those other guys were so annoying and their acting was terrible. Especially Lieutenant Reed, I cringed ever...

I didn't give it a chance when it was on TV. However, I watched it a few years ago and now it's one of my all time favorite shows. Very smartly written and funny. The acting was meant to seem a little off because it's filmed in a documentary style. It might not seem as funny if you aren't able to un...

Hope it's OK if I dredge this thread up. I just now finally got around to watching this movie. I thought the visuals were good but other than that the movie felt flat. Now I should say that I have been writing software almost all my life (some 30 years at this point) and following this movie was ver...

Heh, this question could easily be worded as:
"Superman or Spiderman?"

I'll take Spiderman. ;)

There are many but the one I just watched was The Hurt Locker . This is the type of movie I might normally like but this one sucked. Good grief, I can't figure out why this movie is rated so high by so many people, it makes no sense. Almost everything in the movie is so wrong, from the incorrect uni...

Well it is just an analogy. ;)

Porn is just sex, it's not sexy. To me "sexy" implies sexual subtly. You know, sexual tension, excitement, flirting, and only occasionally actual sex.

Porn is like eating raw sugar whereas sexy is like eating a cake.

It must be a popular idea with lots of people because they keep making films about it. I loved Damnation Alley as a kid. Haven't seen it since then so maybe it would be cheesy to me now. Of course the Mad Max and similar movies are still favorites. Zombieland is another recent one. I mean who wouldn...

Has anyone seen the 3D version in both IMAX and the regular 3D? And when I say "IMAX" I mean a real IMAX theater, not those crappy small-screen mini-IMAX theaters inside a normal theater. I saw it in 3D at a theater using the Sony 4K projectors (which is suppose to be better than the mini-IMAX). I'm...

I always thought the fairy (Crysta?) looked weird, not cute like you would think a fairly in a loincloth should look.

This is how she should have looked (subtle changes make a world of difference):

I agree that the movie was pretty good. You could tell they actually put work into it. I didn't know it was the original writers but that makes sense now.

it doesn't matter that the first few seasons are quite old, because it was edgy for that time. The problem Simpsons runs into now is that it's still trying to be funny in that same fashion 20 years later, when it's no longer edgy; and they're resorting now to little more than pointless plots, and t...

I don't know if it's because it is dated. The first seasons are quite old but still funny and good if you go back and watch them. I don't like most episodes past season 8 or so. There are a few but not many. I still occasionally watch but not often. I think I have seen maybe two or three episodes ou...

Of what I have seen, probably Basic Instinct. Not only is it sexy all throughout but it's also a very good movie. My girlfriend and I did naughty things in the car after watching that at the theater (what was that, like 1992 or so?). Secretary is alright. Sexy but I didn't care for the story all tha...
