I have a lot of traits that are considered feminine in the current western societies. Certainly not all and I guess in some aspects I could be considered more masculine, but overall I consider myself to be more feminine than masculine. I do agree with starkid and greenmm37 that ultimately feminine a... |

Educate yourself. There are books out there about racism and current issues and articles out there. It's 2020 now so people don't really have an excuse to be ignorant when you can find answers out there already. I'm sorry but I really hate this mentality. First of all, it can be time consuming to f... |

But finally the question I made this topic around. How do I know that these feelings are like something I repressed, or I am just forcing myself to feel a certain way? Am I going to have to do something like go on a date with a guy to test how I feel? Is this just normal for "straight" pe... |

I do identify most with this, be it alexithymia or something else. In any case, just being aware about this already helps. |

It was the,at the time, 63 views but no responses that got to me. Sorry. I didn't respond because I don't have an answer to your original question. An alexithymic, even with greater verbal expressions and experience themselves, will have a hard time grasping and discerning the internal sensations a... |

Love them, although some animals scare me. My parents got me a cat when I was 13. I had a more meaningful connection with that cat than with the rest of my family. Nowadays I'm vegan because I don't wanna eat or otherwise harm animals. |

I often wonder where my mask ends and I begin. A lot of the time I feel like I'm living a lie. I don't often wonder, I always wonder. And I feel like my life is 100% a lie, like I'm trapped behind a mask of which I have no control. I don't know who I really am anymore. It sucks and I don't know how... |

In my opinion, dating experience is overrated. What does it matter that one has the knowledge that person X has previously reacted to Y in a certain way when person B can have a completely different reaction? Whether you have experience or not, you're still going to have to get to know each person a... |

Yeah, when it's quiet I can often hear a high-pitched buzzing. At first I thought it was coming from some electric appliance, like the wifi modem. Then I thought it might be tinnitus from listening to music on headphones for years and years. But I'm not really sure what it is. |

I feel you. I've been there. The drugs don't work, regular talk therapy does nothing. What ultimately ended up helping me was art group therapy. It combined a little bit of structured socialising with processing emotional issues through non-verbal means. I had never even realised how little I am abl... |

I can relate to a lot of what you said. I also self-diagnosed at 28, almost nine months ago now. I too felt like I'd finally solved the puzzle, and I was so excited to tell my family because I thought that having found the words to describe my experience, they could finally understand me and we coul... |

It's honestly both a blessing and a curse. While I don't feel pain and other discomfort that often, when I do feel pain that usually means whatever is causing it needs attention soon and I don't notice it until it gets to that point. This. I once got second degree burns on my hand for touching a ho... |

First of all, asking for a clarification when something is unclear is smart. Secondly, I don't think most people can handle being called out/corrected for their improper/vague language use, so I can see why the therapist got snippy, although that's pretty unprofessional behaviour. I think a more rea... |

You've help me prove my point: Self-diagnosis is nothing remotely like a real diagnosis, and self-diagnosed people tend to have suspicious and irrelevant ulterior motives for identifying with autism. You're admitting to using autism as a crutch for your self-esteem problems. Self-hatred has nothing... |

I think my problem is just fear of uncertainty of how my body's going to react to pregnancy and birth. That's completely understandable. There's so much focus on all the negatives (e.g. morning sickness) regarding pregnancy that it seems like that's all there is to it. From what I've read on pregna... |
