In large part because, when you lost your colonies, you lost much of your economic oomph.
But the UK (and USA) are still great countries to live in, by the world's lowish standards.

However, I do not see how anything like Evolution as currently proposed could have worked itself out in the currently accepted timeline of existence. I ...

Thank y'all for the helpful comments

While there is no 'cure' for Autism, I'm finding that hydroxyzine is helping me take the edge off of the otherwise intolerable anxiety and social phobia that I have felt.

Do you have a special routine for when everything goes to hell?

( Mine includes incense, warm bath, soothing music, diet-shattering snacks... )

Unsurprisingly, something in the water was festering in the UK from the mid 60s to mid 70s... I like Heavy Metal (did you know that Black Sabbath's original name was the "Polka Tulk Blues Band"?) but silly 70s pop has my heart. I adore Sweet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM6I-pmV0RA

Speaking of dumb jocks...did you know that Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick scored 1,580 out of 1600 on his SAT's?

(Before the College Board dumbed the test down utterly)

He was an Economics major at Hah-vahd!

The NFC East is so cray-cray that I wouldn't be shocked if the Iggles (or the Washington Football Team  ) won it.

But having said that, a statistical case can be made that Carson Wentz is off to the worst start of any QB in NFL history.
