You can often find out a someone's neighborhood, or even the exact address, based on their phone number. |

8O Don't let others get you down... Don't know much about your situation but I've always thought the best defense is a good offense. Do you have a strategy? I've always thought it best to deal with long term planning and office conflicts as x's and o's on a gameboard. Also read a good book on tacti... |

What is being described here is a general fear of any person that one isn't personally familiar with. Xenophobia, on the other hand, refers to a fear of unfamiliar types of people (e.g. fear of foreigners). If you call someone a xenophobe, it will often be taken as a grave insult, because 'xenophobe... |

I just don't get an emotional impulse to care about people's names. Traditionally I remember the person for how we interact and for vauge facial features, but not for the name. However, if I make sure to call someone by their name several times soon after meeting them, and 'think' the name in associ... |

Probably because people dislike seeing stitched-up wounds. Most people would probably hide stitches if possible, because they would feel that it detracts from their appearance and/or makes them look ugly. Also, it might be considered an 'unprofessional' appearance. I mean, wearing sandals is often c... |

Wow, it is easy to make jman behave rudely! Any topic that causes prospective IT workers so much outrage is very important to talk about with them. If it wasn't such an important topic to their careers, it wouldn't make them so outraged :) I mean, if I wanted to join, say, the Army, it would be bad ... |

Here's an example, culled from my own personal experiences in the past. It's embellished somewhat but you get the idea. Me: So we're going to the movies? Friend: Yes we are, but we're going to stop at 7-11 first and get some munchies. Me: Okay, what movie are we going to see again? Friend: Well whe... |

It sounds like the teacher didn't believe that you had a migrane headache, or doesn't understand how painful they are. I haven't had a migrane headache, but people I know of who have them become totally debilitated - e.g. one has to stay in a quiet room with all of the shades pulled down and lights ... |

I wouldn't count on such 'percentages' as a general rule. They sound like 'everyday' conversation. But words/bodylanguage/tone are each best for communicating certain types of info. So for some conversations tone will be most important, but other conversations are dominated by words, etc. It all dep... |

I disagree - if people can understand your words anyway, it doesn't matter that they are mispelled*. And if people can't understand your words, then they should just tell you so that you can fix them manually. If humans can't figure out what a word means, then a spellchecker certainly can't - and it... |

It sounds like that project requires more than competence at computer programming. So perhaps it falls outside the scope of "Computer Studies". However, it also sounds like just the sort of thing that a computer programmer does to make a living. It might've been a valuable experience, even if stress... |
