Exactly! I often feel like I have to think very precisely and consciously when I have a simple conversation. Sometimes, it seems like I'm thinking on two tracks when I speak with someone: one is following the flow of the conversation and what other people are saying, the other is keeping track of so...

Hailing from Albuquerque, here, so just a short hop to the south of you (once the Rail Runner's up, I'm hoping to be able to make the trip up there more often). I'm borderline aspie - my sensory and social issues are nowhere as near bad as many here, but they're still there. I don't find social int...

The Kiwi part of my nickname was given to me by my parents as they took a trip to New Zealand shortly before I was born. I wish I was from the...

I've heard/read that NVLD is AS but with slightly less social problems and having trouble remembering what places look like. From what I've read, assuming it's accurate, there is really not much of a difference. Welcome to WP. That is a pretty accurate description of NVLD. I have a very hard time f...

I think you articulate your thoughts very well and I empathize with a lot of what you wrote in your post. I am curious about the whole empathy thing. I am often frustrated with my experiences in college because I feel like I have a one-track mind to a certain extent: I can either only focus on schoo...

I am really interested in this! It would be amazing if there was an aspie bar. I've always thought of aspergers as a kind of underground culture. It would be amazing if there was a place to get together and socialize according to our own social rules. Maybe this would be a great way for an aspie to...
