It's all of those things described above and more. I find it impossible to explain to a non biker but it's all consuming. The need for absolute focus so nobody kills you or you don't hit that bit of gravel or go over the slippery tarmac snakes at the same time as that engine can be felt grumbling in... |

Had a go out on my bike yesterday. Not been out on it for aaaaaages due to covid lockdown and also a shoulder dislocation. ......but the sun was shining and roads were dry. Couldn't resist it and went out to blow off the cobwebs. Absolutely brilliant. It's such a good way to de-stress. Smiles all da... |

" He and his brother were big believers in 'blue balls'. Nowadays I just say if you have 'blue balls' or 'blue ovaries'... finish yourself off or have a cold shower. Don't guilt people into doing things they don't want to.[/quote]" I'm sorry to jump in here with no answer to the topic ques... |

Hi Aspieprincess. I'm a 52 year old man. I'm very happily married and have two adult children............but if you bring a baby into the room I'm unable to do anything but focus all my attention on it. I massively enjoy being with babies, the honesty and simplicity from them , their simple needs of... |

Hi all, it's great hearing about, and now seeing, all your bikes. I love the look of that Harley. Not for me though, I'm the wrong shape for one of those to be comfortable on it (too short in the arm!) ....and I'm not really a fan of spending too much time polishing to keep that lovely looking chrom... |

Hi Elbow. Don't know if there's any race circuits by you but you should try doing a track day (on one of their school bikes) sometime. I bought a track/race school day for my son for his birthday a couple of years ago and it looked great fun watching him getting down through the bends not worrying a... |

Hi Elbow grease. I love those bikes and that must have been an amazing trip. Lots of great memories I'll bet. My dad never had bikes after I was born but I have an old black and white photo of him in the 60s with a bike he had that he loved - that was an Enfield Bullet I think so I've always fancied... |

Hi Goldfish. Great to hear.People who don't ride will never understand the pleasure that comes from it, the joy of banking through a perfectly executed bend. I've done quite a few miles over the years now but I wouldn't class myself as a skilled rider. I don't like speed on the road, too many things... |

Hi all. I absolutely love motorbikes. For me, riding is therapy. It's the only time I ever switch off or quieten my brain. In a car or any other time you'll be thinking about a million things, the last conversation, the next conversation, the social event your partner has agreed you'll go to, your p... |

Hi Radiodog. Thank you for that....really interesting to hear. I suppose in one way good to know that this may be a temporary thing that I can work through but potentially also disappointing in that it may take quite so long! I guess time will tell. Just have to battle on I suppose. Glad things work... |

Hi Brown eyed. You've hit the nail on the head. I'm just not sure whether what I'm going through is some form of burn out (ie temporary and I need to get through it and can then carry on) or if it is due to aging and a natural reduction in ability to cope ie permanent. Wondered how aging affected ot... |

Hi Brown eyed. I've always tended to move from role to role on a 2-4 year basis since I started work. Due to the nature of my work and natural progression, that has never stood out as odd to others as I've been picked for new roles and had others created for me so that I could manage a particular wo... |

Hi all. I was wondering how Asperger's had affected you through aging? I'm 52. I've always masked my Asperger's really well such that nobody knows I have it and have a pretty good job several grades up the management ladder. The trouble is that although Asperger's symptoms don't necessarily worsen, ... |
