I’m sorry she threw things at you. That’s unacceptable. What provoked her? It’s generally just a volatile situation, for example, meldowns and especially crying is always going to end in verbal and physical violence towards me, recently added is threats to kill me or herself if I don’t stop… this i...

I tested at 113 (Wechsler), but with considerable spread. My perceptual reasoning and verbal comprehension were both above 90th percentile, which I would never have guessed. Unfortunately I'm held back by below average working memory. I had a hard time with digit span and doing arithmetic in my head...

Not really; quality-based answers are mostly matters of opinion, while quantity-based answers are matters of fact.  While there is some overlap, fudging your answers on the factual side is the way to go. Keep in mind that "I do not know" is also a perfectly acceptable answer. In my years ...

Your feelings are entirely valid and demonstrate self-acceptance.

I was with a meditation-teaching group in my 20s, and for many years afterwards was confused by the wide variety of other meditation teachings my friends used. I finally realized that the best technique is the one that an individual will use, because they like the story that comes with it. Differen...

My favoured method of meditation is to focus on passively taking in the sounds of my environment. If the session goes well, I experience the sound in a way that feels more direct and more real. Words fail me, but it's something like the difference between seeing a photo of something and seeing it in...

It is a bit like when one is asked to say on a scale of 1 to 10 how much pain one is in when one is in trouble and one dare not say 10 because one thinks that it is possible that pain could get even worse then one can imagine... But as one has not said 10, the health service does not respond where ...

Another aphantasiac signing in. I have no difficulty with meditation on account of my aphantasia. I fix my attention to passively taking in the sounds of my environment. I feel that deliberate visualisation, as something requiring an active and deliberate effort, would be contrary to the nature of t...

I can reliably hit 100 WPM on those typing tests, although not with the best accuracy. My 'high score,' when I was really practicing, was 120 or so. It helps that I'm a digital native. I was taught typing in primary school and had computer access as a child. WPM tests aren't the truest measure of pr...
